Hey? Maybe you can answer this for me? I have no webserver yet and don't plan on gettin one for now untill I finish everything on my website. So I want to try to set-up the Coppermine Photo Gallery on my own desktop. I've tried to do it on freewebs and I also can't figure it out. Is there anyway to do it on the desktop and if so how? ???

Jrlew,

You might want to take a look at XAMPP: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

It's a free, very easy to instal, package which gives you an Apache webserver, MySQL, PHPMYAdmin, and PHP (and more) on your local PC. I use it to do all my web development off-line before uploading to my live sites. Coppermine works great on it and you can sort out most of your issues before going live.

Just don't try to use XAMPP as a live web server - as configured, it doesn't have any of the necessary security features.

If you want to preview coppermine, you could as well look at the coppermine live demo - that's what it has been designed for.
