Organization of main Thumbnails.php page

In all the themes I looked at, it looks as if this page displays the thumbnail with the title and caption below it - all centered.  I would like to re-arrange this so that it works in a two column table with the thumbnail on the left and the title / caption / other info on the right in each table row. 

I have not been able to find the spot in the code to modify the layout. Any pointers?

Copy the $template_thumbnail_view template from the sample theme into your custom theme.php and modify your copy.

Sigh.  It's not my day.  Did that.  (Actually, had done it earlier in the week.)  Did not change anything one iota.   Just cleaned out my cache and browsing history in case it was somehow hung up in that - but that didn't change anything either.

That's what is meant by insert into theme.php, right?  From looking  at other themes, that seems to be it, but it didn't do anything.

Is that the theme you are actually using? Post a link to your gallery and what the theme is called.

The theme is customized.  And yes, what I posted is what is in the theme right now.  It started with classic - which has nothing in the theme.

The album is password protected; I can't see anything.

I never set it to be private - but I just went in and changed the setting that said albums could be private from yes to no.  The default must be yes.

Hopefully, that will do it.
