I have used coppermine-gallery v1.4.8 since 2007, it can display both pictures and multimedia files and meets almost all the requirements I need.

Now it was used as a home learning support for the chinese course of my wife, and she spent already a lot of time to maintain it.

At the beginning of this month, my wife told me that all the pics and the multimedia files can not be displayed any more, including thumbnails.

I used the admin tools to refresh or recreate the thumbnails and intermediate files, but failed by swf files and got the time out by pics.

Today I update the projet from cpg v1.4.8 to the newest v1.4.21, then I have checked all the possibilities to make the pics displaying, but failed till now.

Url links are listed as follows
http://www.nacheng.de/cpg148/
http://www.nacheng.de/cpg148/update.php

Then I have tried the followings:
1. I installed a complete new version cpgv1.4.20(URL:http://www.nacheng.de/cpg1420/), it works without problem.

2. I removed all pictures from one of albums and readded all this pictures to my old v1.4.8 directory(already updated to v1.4.21), but all the pictures still cannot be displayed.

Since I need all the file title, description and size settings, if I start with a new one, it costs a lot of time to reedit all the things.

Could you be so kind to give me some suggestions, how can I fix this problem, or at least, how can I export and import all the file descriptions.

By the way, another question confused me since long time, that is how can I give a selfmade thumbnails to my multimedia files, typically to swf files, otherwise, all the swf or movies are forced to use the same thumbail.

Thank you very much in advance!!!

I am looking forward to all suggestions...

Yours sincerely,

Evergold

You have a redirect in place that redirects all requests for your files to google, which is an indicator of your site having been hacked caused by reluctance to upgrade in time.

Upgrading alone won't fix.

Joachim

Side-note: you better rename the folder your gallery resides in. Using version numbers is just silly. Rename http://www.nacheng.de/cpg148/ to http://www.nacheng.de/galerie/ or similar.

Sorry for the late response since I have two days business trip.

Thanks a lot for your detailed answer and the links for solution.

I will try to find and fix the hacked files accroding to your suggestion.

By the way, I know the name "cpg148" looks silly, but it was created by my provider automaticly throung the click start function. Another name cpg1420 is just for the test.  I really want to change the directory name even from the beginning, however I'm afraid I will damage the link between the directory and database, Could you please tell me which points or files should I pay attention to if I planned to changed the directory name? Need I do something with the database?

Thank you in advance again!

Not sure what a "click start function" is, but sounds like an auto-installer, which we're not fond of. In fact, auto-installers and everything related to that goes unsupported.

That will not happen - no damage will be done to the content of the database, as coppermine stores all references relative to the coppermine folder. You can rename that as you see fit (using your FTP app), as long as the names and structure of the sub-folders stay as they are. The only thing you need to do after changing the name (to something that makes sense to humans as well as search engines) is going to coppermine's config after renaming and changing the record "URL of your coppermine gallery folder". I suggest renaming http://www.nacheng.de/cpg148/ to http://www.nacheng.de/galerie/ or similar. Then go to http://www.nacheng.de/cpg148/admin.php and change the setting to the new URL. This is being discussed in the docs as well...
Not related to your initial issue, so as per our "one question per thread" policy you shouldn't have asked this here in the first place. Instead, you should have posted your question about renaming the coppermine folder to something different in a separate thread of it's own.
