where can i edit the language names so that they get recognized?

i have these languages:

brazilian_portuguese.php
english.php
german.php

i'd like to change them to:

1.English.php
2.Brasileiro.php
3.Deutsch.php

if i only change the file names the script will not recognize them.

Assuming you are using the 1.2x mod,with the language selection in the anycontent file, you change it there.

Find;
$language_name['german']    = 'German';

and change it to;
$language_name['german']    = 'Deutsch';

And so on.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
