I am totally new to coppermine, hopeing to come up with an easier way of running my site.
www.spudfiles.com
As you can see, there are lots of cannons.  So I want it set up so when I go to upload something, and you fill all of the upload boxes with images, they like all stay on the same "page" together.  I dunno what you would call it, but I uploaded 3 random pictures all at the same time....
http://www.spudfiles.com/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=1
See how it spreads them out in the album?  Well if I upload all 3 of those pics at once... I want all 3 to show up at once here...
http://www.spudfiles.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=1
and just use like the first picture uploaded for the thumbnail.

So on that page it would be like image, caption to that image, another image, caption to that image.. etc etc till they hit the max number of pic uploads at a time.  Then at the bottom you have the comments and rateing, etc.

Thanks a lot :)
Plz, help a n00b with a growing site... I can't keep up with people submitting things to be and me having to manually make pages for each like I am now.

I don't understand your question at all. Please re-phrase.

lol ok I was afraid of that... let me try to make some pictures... (I am in the middle of chopping together a template so stuff looks... odd :P)
You know how you go to upload file, and by default you see 5 file upload boxes?  Well lets say I take a picture of an xbox and put it in the first upload box, then I take a picture from a game and put it in the second upload box.  I hit continue, it asks for details about each picture, then it is posted... and it looks like this...
http://www.spudfiles.com/1.png
Well that is the first problem.  See I uploaded those 2 pictures at the same time, and now they are seperate.  I can click on each one and bring each one up... they aren't stuck together in any way.  What I want is for this...
http://www.spudfiles.com/1.png
To just show 1 thumbnail from 1 of the pictures I uploaded (like it just automatically makes the thumbnail from whatever picture was in the first upload box), then when I click it I get something like this (I chopped together bad bad screen shots, large size bad quality pic)
http://www.spudfiles.com/2.png

Now see what I am saying?  It's kind of odd, but that's what I need for my site.

Thanks :)

this is not possible, and it doesn't make sense to me. I'm sure your users can decide which picture to look at judging from the thumbnails. As a gallery admin, you're recommended to use ftp-upload and batch-add anyway and group the pics that belong together by creating a proper category/album structure.

Does anyone else understand what I am trying to do..?
Look at this...
http://www.spudfiles.com/Pneumatic_Cannons/cool_sniper.php
See how it's like a picture, then a caption, then a picture, caption, etc? All on the same page?  Well that's how I want it to be when someone logs in and uploads a few pics at the same time.  Having it spread out like a normal gallery would confuse everyone because there would be hundreds and hundreds of pictrues in an album... and they would all be for different cannons, you would have to search around to find all of the pictures for that 1 cannon.  That's why I need someway to stick them together, and I thought the best way would be to have them all on the same page.

If I am unable to do this can someone suggest some way to do what I want?  Manually adding all of the content to my site is becomeing very hard due to the ammounts of it I get.

Joachim Müller

I think I understand your request, but having two or more pics displayed on one instance of displayimage.php is simply not possible (and by which algorythm/logic is coppermine supposed to "know" which pics belong together - all pics that have been uploaded within 1 minute?). If you're the only one to upload to your gallery at all, why don't you merge the pics into one on your client before uploading?

Ok I understand ya.  I could be the only one uploading, but I was trying to make it so users could upload automatically, then just have me auth them.   Have any other ideas on what I could use?

Thanks :)
