I never make it past the first screen. My service provider is YAHOO! Business Web Hosting.

PHP Version 4.3.6
MySQL 3.23.49
Apache/1.3.28 (Unix)

ERROR:
Could not create a mySQL connection, please check the SQL values entered

MySQL error was : Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46)

I tried manually creating the database after this and STILL no go. I'm not a php programmer so I need an answer put in simple terms on how to get past this. Thanks.

search for "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'" using the advanced search of this board.

Thx GauGau....Found out that MySQL name needed to be the standard YAHOO default instead of "localuser".
Problem solved with that. Now I have a new problem that I'll open up in another thread.....only because its a totally
different issue now.

Glad you fixed it, and thanks for following the board rules re letting us know, and 1 topic per thread.
I wish others would follow your example.  ;)
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
