I had the Version 1.2.1 of the Gallery. In this Version the FTP Upload Pictures were in the /albums/userpics Folder.
I updated to the 1.3.0. In this Version the ftp upoload pics should be in the /albums Folder - no more in the userpics Folder.
Now i have a lot auf subfolders with pictures in the /albums/userpics Folder an the new subfolders in de /albums Folder.
Whats about with the "old" suvfolders. Can they copied in the "new" Folder or not.??

Thanks for your Answer

You don't have to do anything about the pictures already in your gallery.  They can stay where they are.  You just need to create a new directory in the /albums directory for any future FTP uploads.
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.

ftp uploads were never meant to go into the userpics folder, in no coppermine version ever. This rule is just enforced in cpg1.3.x by hiding the userpics folder on the batch-add screen.
You should run the most recent stable release cpg1.3.2 instead of cpg1.3.0 btw.

in fact i have the 1.3.2 running.
at the 1.2.0 version the ftp upload with batchmode worked with the files in the userpics folder.

what about the upcoming version. should this become a problem with the pics in the userpics folder, oder can the stay there.

You already got an answer. I suggest making up your mind about future coppermine versions once they get released. There's little point in speculating about future versions when such versions doesn't exist yet.
As I already said: you never were meant to ftp-upload there, cpg1.2 just didn't have a routine built in that made sure you didn't. As lots of users experienced problems after they had been ignoring the policy to never upload to userpics, we decided to add a routine to the batch-add page that kept you from doing what you were not suppossed to do in the first place.

Is there any way to move the pics in the correct folder? without loosing comments and so on??

Casper

Do not move any that are already added to the albums.  As long as you have no problems with it, it is better to leave them there.

But just make sure any new pics you upload go into the correct place.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
