While "User Galleries" is listed on my category management page as a top level gallery, it is not showing up anywhere else. It does not show up on the main page as a category, it doesn't show up in any of the drop-down boxes where you can select a category, and no where is there an option to create my own personal gallery or upload photos to it. If I'm at "Home > User Galleries > Colliope" -  the page is blank underneath the headings; there isn't even a message that says no albums exist yet or "go here to create an album" or whatnot.

I have the two default groups of administrators and registered set up to allow everyone to have & upload to without approval to their own gallery. I have Anonymous group set up to allow nothing.

I have made no modifications to the script files and haven't added any additional templates or mods, and the User Galleries is/are missing no matter which theme I use.  I have read thru the online manual for Coppermine, and it doesn't say anything about how to make the User Galleries show up, it just says that User Galleries category can't be deleted. I think it should be showing up as a category on the main page even though  its empty (obviosuly empty, as I can find no way to make a User Album!)

Do I have something set wrong, or do you think something went wrong in the install and I should re-download/install the whole thing?

the user galleries category will not show on the front page if it is empty.  This is by design, as many users do not allow personal albums.

To create an album in the user galleries, you need to select '*My gallery' from the cat list when creating  the album.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Thats what I was saying; I didn't have the option to do that yesterday. Today, "My Gallery" was listed in the drop-down box for choosing a category in the Album manager, so I was able to create a couple of personal albums and then successfully upload to them. "My Gallery" did not appear in that box yesterday! Anyway, it is there now, and I can create more albums for My Gallery from Admin mode, by using the album manager.

But what about my registered users? I still can't find any way to create an album in user-mode. I have permissions set so any registered user can have a personal album, but where is the option for them to create it and begin uploading pics to it? I've been over this for hours and if I'm in user-mode, there is no option for creating a personal album.

From the "Documentation":

"There is a special category named "User galleries". This category can't be deleted. If a user belongs to a group where "can have a personal gallery" is set to YES, he will have the right to create his own albums and his gallery will be a sub-category of "User galleries"."

I do have that set to YES, so where/how do they create their album(s)?   ???

You, as admin but in user mode, do not see what the user sees.

The user also gets an admin menu, and they have to create their own albums using the create/order my albums button (which you as admin don't see).

If you want to test this, create a new user, with normal user permissions, and log on as that user.

Well shoot, I never would have figured that out.

Thankyou. It's beginning to make sense for me now.

It's easiest to have two browsers installed (IE and Firefox/Mozilla), then use one solely for your normal user and the other for your admin user.  This way you don't have to log in/out everytime you want to check something.  Plus you can see how your site displays in the popular browsers.
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.
