Hi

I have just started using Coppermine and really enjoy it. I have uploaded close to 1000 images and have had no problems except for 5 files/images. I had a folder of 6 images. One was accepted, but the other 5 rejected due to a DATABASE QUERY ERROR. I tried renaming both files and albums, but Coppermine just won't accept those five files/images.

I have uploaded 100s of files both before and after, so it doesn't appear to be Coppermine. All images are saved exactly the same as jpgs, rgb from Photoshop.

Does anyone have solutions as to what can be wrong with these 5 images?

Thanks for your time!

Are you uploading using http uploads or ftp-upload and batch-add? A link to your page might help as well, plus a chance for us to take a closer look at the pics you were trying to add unsuccessfully (either deep link of attachment to your reply, depending on file size). Post details about the pics along with it, e.g. size, resolution etc.

Hi Joachim

You are right - more info!

I am uploading via FTP and batch-add!

My page is http://www.stockit.dk/cmfoto/index.php

I will try to attach 2 files from the same batch. The one that ends with 13 is accepted. The other one is not as well as 4 more in the same batch. Very strange ;-)

Hope this helps a alittle

OK, thanks for those pics - I was able to test-upload them to my coppermine install, so the files themselves should be OK. To test this further, let's do some tests; I want you to do this:
  • go to coppermine config, enable "debug_mode" for everyone (keep "notices display" turned off, we only need debug_mode).
  • Create a test user account (non-admin) with upload privileges and post the account data in your next posting
  • Go to "groups" from the admin panel and set "upload method" to "Single file uploads only" for the group the test user is in (usually "registered" group)
Doing this, we should get additional error messages (if there are any) when uploading "good" pics.
Another thing you should test/verify: maybe the 5 files that cause problems using batch-add have gotten corrupted during ftp-upload. Remove them from your server and re-upload them, using the proper ftp mode. Make sure that the web path you uploaded them to doesn't contain spaces or special chars - there should only be alhpanumerics, preferably all lower case (both folder names, file name and extension).

Please report back.

Hi Joachim

I think I did everything you asked me to. If i understand you right, then here is the info: Account:test pass:**** (did you need the password?)

I did try reloading by ftp and no luck!

Joachim Müller

yes, of course I need the test user account data - I'm not a mind reader ;) Make sure the test user account doesn't have admin privileges, we only need "regular" user privileges.

that isn't meant to be there? Did you apply any modifications to the coppermine core code?

Joachim

I added a code found in this forum, that makes it possible to have Coppermine read and use information entered in description and keywords etc. in Photoshop.

Don't you think it might be because of the ' used in FCK's - I will try to correct the description

marking this thread as solved then, but remember: you should edit the code of the mod you applied to properly escape singe quotes, to keep this permanently from happening, and to re-enable you to use single quotes (apostrophes) - as suggested on the other thread. You might want to post your fix on the thread where the mod is being discussed.
