Hi

http://www.geoffmarchant.co.uk/

Search on this installation is partially broken.  If you search for something (say, 'police') an image is found but the link to the large image is 404 http://www.geoffmarchant.co.uk/displayimage.php?album=search&cat=0&pos=0.

I've just upgraded from 1.1 to 1.2.0 RC2 hoping it would fix the problem.  It didn't.

Any suggestions please?

David.

And what exactly are we supposed to search for? You have greatly modified the theme and disabled a lot of stuff - seems like you're not using keywords at all. Give us an example of a search (url or term) that you think it should work.

Search for 'police'.

moorey

Hmm. I did that yesterday and just did it again. 1 picture found, *clicked* I see the intermediate picture "POLICE SLOW" (which is not the thumbnail). Am I suppose to see a larger picture? I can't click any further.

Thank for looking, moorey.

Weird. IE6 gives me 'No image to display' when I click the thumbnail.  If I do the same search in Mozilla/Firebird/Opera the image appears (as per your screen shot).

Any ideas?

moorey

I'm guessing it's your firewall or proxy or some of your software settings . I'm at the other end of the world and I can see it so...

Try it on another computer.

David_1cog

I thought it might be firewall-related so turned it off - same result.  I'll try another PC.  Thanks for checking it out.

P.S.  I'll be in Perth / Mandurah in 10 days for 3 months.  See you on Cottesloe Beach?   :D

moorey

Surely you can see this?

Interesting. What are you doing down there in Mandurah? I'll be in Singapore and travelling around to Borneo and Thailand in 10 days for about 2 months :D It's scorching over here last few days.. 40 degrees yesterday and today. You pommies would love that. *grin*

David_1cog

http://www.geoffmarchant.co.uk/albums/PressPR/police.jpg actually kicks in the hot link prevention rewrite I've got on my server, so it won't show the image.

I can see the image if I navigate through the category / album list and get to http://www.geoffmarchant.co.uk/displayimage.php?album=11&pos=9.

Like you say, prolly something to do with proxies in IE.  I'll do some digging.

Sister and family in Mandurah, mate in Wembley Downs.  40?!!     Better bring me factor 100 lotion.

Borneo was a great experience - loved it.  Thailand was a great experience for the mosquitos at my expense.    Have fun.

moorey

Heh I think you just found the answer yourself. The .htaccess (I presume) you use to prevent hotlinking is stopping you from viewing it. I suggest you check that one out (or remove it to test) cos I can view it fine (direct link with that url and otherwise).

David_1cog

Unfortunately not.  I removed it and same result.  Besides, it's server level and Mozilla / Firebird / Opera all work fine - so problem lies with IE configuration somewhere.

I'll play with proxies and see if I get anywhere.

Thanks for your time - "good onya mate".

David_1cog

Unfortunately not.  I can see the image fine using Mozilla / Firebird / Opera - it's only IE6 that shows the problem from the search and with the hotlinking prevention (which I don't understand at the moment).  So I guess it's a proxie / IE setup issue.  I'll have a play later to try and figure it out.

Anyway, thanks for your time, appreciated - "good onya, mate".

I think it could be a cookie problem...
I don't know for sure what coppermine relies on to store the searched term, but it is obvious that it uses that to determine what to display in the album "search". The reason you can't see anything is because the album "search" is empty, so there is nothing in the pos=0.

The reason I think this may be cookie related is because album "favorites" relies on cookies too... Does "My favorites" work for you? If it doesn't, it's most definitely cookie problems.

Thanks for suggestion but that doesn't seem to be the case - I disabled firewall (with cookie control), set IE6 to accept all cookies and still the same problem.

I also set IE security to 'Low'.  That didn't help.

I'm not sure what else to try.   :?
