Hi,

My web hosting service provides easy installation of Coppermine. It appears to have installed successfully as the directories and mysql database have been set-up. However, when I try to access the admin login I get the following error:

Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

MySQL said: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

My web hosting service thinks it may be a configuration problem but they are not that familiar with Coppermine and do not know where to direct me.

Any help would be wonderful.

Thanks

What version of mySQL are you using?

Point your webserver admin to this URL. http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/old-client.html If this is the case, it will detail to him how to fix the problem

Hope this helps,
