Image files in separate webspace

I have 2 separate web spaces from 2 ISPs. One is fast and reliable and has better services, and I have my main site there, which uses mambo and SMF (bridged).

On the other webspace, which is much larger, I have the large downloads, and the photo gallery (coppermine) with thousands of photos. (Its a music related site). I simply link to from the main site when users go to the Photos section, and it opens up in a new page.

The main trouble with this is they have to have 2 different accounts.

My ideal solution would be to be able to keep the images themselves on the larger webspace but install coppermine on the main site (and integrate it with Mambo/SMF so that users only need to log in once.

So when users upload a photo, they would really be uploading to the other server.

How could I go about this if it is at all possible?

Edit: They are also different domains. But if it helps I could create a sub-domain of the main site's domain on the other server, or vice versa.

I have done a few searches and all the asnwers were on the negative.

One of the arguments not to link images by url was bandwidth theft...but anyone can do that on their page its up to the ones who dont want people linking to their photos to display them in such a way that it cant be done.

As it is, precisely the fact that its been asked for on plenty of occasions speaks for itself, its necessary for many people.

For me its not a question of money, the association the sites belong to is non-profitmaking and depends on what the local ISPs offer for free to non-profitmaking . We just dont have the budget.

One of the responses suggested 'being a coding genius'. I'm no coding genius, but let me attempt a suggestion for a solution:

A standard installation of coppermine on the main site just read the files (maybe with FTP settings you give it) from one root URL you give it.
An 'upload agent' could be installed on the image server, sharing the same mysql database to provide user logins. And that would be the front end you offer people who ant to upload. (You link to it from your main site, and it comes up as a new browser window with no navigation, so it looks integrated.

Go on guys, you cant deprive all genuine users because some people steal bandwidth.  :\'(

I wouldnt like to change to another gallery, but as it stands I might just have to either create some gallery that reads its images from a hard coded root url I give it. Which would be sad because I can never make something half good a coppermine. Or end up jumping to the first gallery software that offers this solution. Which again I dont want to do, I am happy with coppermine other than this issue.

There is no mod posted to accomplish this. If you want it then you need to get it coded.
