I'm looking into using Coppermine for an image gallery site I'm planning.  Could anyone tell me if the following features are available in a basic install of Coppermine, and if not whether it would be feasible to hire a programmer to customize Coppermine to do this or whether it would make more sense to hire someone to develop a new custom script from the ground up?

Needed features:

--Users can register and log in to submit (upload) images to the existing category of their choice.
--Users can enter a text title and description for images that they submit.
--Admin must approve each submitted image and title/description before it appears on the site, and admin can edit and re-upload the image if needed while still leaving it credited to the user who originally uploaded it.
--Image details should show which user submitted the image, and link to the user's profile where you can see all images submitted by that user.  (Note:  even though the image is tied to the user who submitted it, it must also appear within the proper category on the site.)
--Users can log in to comment on images and rate them.  User comments are not shown on the site until approved by an admin.
--Able to make a custom layout for the homepage that includes thumbnails of newest x images and top rated x images.
--Can be integrated with vBulletin so that they share the same registrations and login usernames/passwords.

Thanks for any help and advice you can provide.  It would be great if Coppermine could do all this stuff by default, so that's what I'm hoping to hear. :)  If I decide to go with Coppermine for the site I'll probably be hiring someone from this forum to do the theme design and any necissary customizations.

Coppermine can do 90% of that by default. Currently you cannot approve comments or re-upload files (although these are simple modifications to make).

Wow!  Thanks for the quick response.  So am I understanding you correctly that Coppermine can hold submitted images until I approve them but not comments?

Is it easy to go into Admin section and view all of the latest comments and delete any that are not appropriate?  Is it possible to allow only registered users to leave comments?

How much of a hassle would it be to just ftp into the server and replace the appropriate filename with an edited image?  I need to be able to do this in order to add a watermark for the site or to censor out parts of inappropriate images.  Would doing this break anything in the script?

Thanks again!

Yes, pics can be subject to admin approval. There is a section for the admin to easily review recent comments, and commenting permissions can be set on a group by group basis. Replacing images directly on the server isn't going to do any harm, you can automatically rebuild the resized versions of the pic in admin tools.

Download Coppermine and give it a try :)
