The long awaited option of "Admin activation of registrations" doesnt work for me.. I have this set to 'Yes', but the user can still create an account and log in immediately (with access to albums assigned the 'registered user' group), without admin activating the account. Is this feature supposed to work?

Tranz

It's supposed to work. Just to eliminate confounds... you've run update.php?

Have you tried it yourself by registering an account?

No, its a new install of 1.4.2.. Do I need to run this script?

I have tried myself a couple of times, but always manage to log on and see the albums even with this option set to Yes.

Forgot to mention, admin DO get an email with the following content:

In order to activate the account, you need to click on the link below or copy and paste it in your web browser.

http://www.xxxxxxx.com/coppermine/register.php?activate=

(I'd expect to see a username at the end of the string, but)

Hmm... I just tested and I got the admin email with an activation key. I also was not able to log in with my username and password until I, as admin, clicked the link to activate the account.

If you don't have anything after activate=, then something is amiss with the installation. Where did you get the installation from? A real link to your gallery might help.

Nibbler

Thu, please check with 'User registration requires email verification' disabled.

The file was downloaded from sourceforge on the 1st dec according to the timestamp.

I will PM url details, etc.

Nibbler: Yes, "User registration requires email verification" is disabled.

Ohh. ok. I was able to replicate the issue when I disabled it.

@Scope: until this gets fixed, enable this setting.

Scope

TranzNDance : Yes, enabling the "'User registration requires email verification" option sorts out the problem.. Thanks. :)

I left it disabled because I didnt want the user to verify (and then me having to activate), but it doesnt send an email to the user until I have actived, so thats fine..

Thanks for your help.
