Hello, I'm not sure which forum to post this in so feel free to move it.

I installed CM 1.4.2 at my site.

I changed "User Galleries" to "Paragon Sentinels Gallery"...so that any registered user's albums would be seen there.

I then logged out and created a user which I registered...let's call him USER-A and added an album. NO problem. It showed up in the Paragon Sentinels Gallery (User Galleries). So USER-A could see the admin's album, and his own album.

I then had USER-A turn his album so that it was viewed by HIMSELF ONLY. He could now see the Admin's album and his own album.

I then logged off and created/registered USER-B. USER-B naturally couldn't see USER-A's album...but the problem is he couldn't see the Admin's album or even HIS OWN album (after he created one)?!

I then re-logged on USER-A and made his album viewable to everybody.

USER-B could now see ALL three albums (incl. the Admin's).

What's going on? Why couldn't USER-B see his own album when USER-A made USER-A's own album invisible? I wouldn't think one registered user would affect how another registered User could see their albums.

Please explain..or tell me what I'm doing wrong...as I admittedly am VERY new to web hosting my own site.  :)

Thank you!

Did you try clearing cookies and logging back in again to confirm that it wasn't a cookie issue?

Hi Dennis,

First off...thanks for responding. Appreciate your taking the time!  :)

Secondly, I'll give that a shot. I do have SpySweeper...that wouldn't affect it, would it?

Edit: Ok I did try that...and oddly enough it still doesn't work.  :(

Also, I noticed that as a guest I can't see the albums...can't I see the albums as a guest (unregistered visitor)?

The site is: www.paragonsentinels.com/gallery for those interested in trying for yourself :)

Aariben (USER-A) made his album private...but strangely that made any future user not see ANYBODY'S album.

Thanks for your help!
Ted

did you add any pictures to the albums yet?

I just did and I see no problem.

Hi Dennis,

No I hadn't added pictures. Do pictures need to be in the albums before they show up to guests and unregistered users?

Thanks

Looks that way insofar as user albums are concerned.
Regular albums set up by the admin show that greyscale nopic.gif when there is no pic in the album.

Hmm but when I logged on as Guest or USER-B....I didn't see any admin albums.

All I've seen as Guest are the two albums you just created for me.  :(

I guess I'm stupid when it comes to this stuff.  :(

Thanks for your continued help...you're going above and beyond and I appreciate it! :)

?? did you create any albums while in admin mode?
All I saw were stats for two albums but I figured they were the albums you created for each registered user.

Yes, my Admin created one album. So there are 5 (my admin, USER-A, USER-B) and your 2.

When USER-A makes his private: USER-B can't see any of the 3..but he CAN see yours.

I'm baffled!

artistsinhawaii

ah!  I see them all now.

What did you change?

Dennis (will pm you passwords for the two accounts I created)
