Hello,

I've searched the forums and have seen several references to keywords, but not the specific question I have:

In much the way that comments can be configured to allow different users to add comments (ex. guests, registered users, album owner, etc), is there an analogous feature to allow others to tag photos?

Thank you

Tranz

@sjordan: Do you mean by "tag" adding keywords to a photo?

Paver,

Yes. I know that many people differentiate between 'tags' and 'keywords'.

Tags, I think are usually meant to refer to tags/keywords assigned to an object (ex. photo) that is not owned by the tagger.

But that is splitting hairs.

So again, yes. I was looking for a way that registers visitors to my gallery can add their own tags/keywords to my photos.

In that way, maybe keywords I don't think of, some visitor might. And thus make the keywords richer and more robust.

I know there are ramifications.

For example, it might be best to keep user contributed tags separate from the owners tags.

As Thu said, it would need to be coded.  There is really no easy way to add such a feature, particularly with keeping the user's keywords separated from the owner's, with the current keyword structure and code.

I guess this thread should be considered another "Feature Request".

For keywords in general, I just gathered together various thoughts on this thread to discuss such keyword improvements: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=28732.0

Thank you for looking into it.

Much appreciated.
