I have been playing around with CPG and SMF all day, and had gotten a lot of thing messed up, so I decided to reboot everything! I deleted all files, and installed everything from scratch. First SMF, checked it out to make sure it worked. Then CPG, and checked that out to make sure that worked. When I was satisfied everything was okay, I bridged the two.
Now I can't log into the gallery. When I try I'm taken to the forum, and have no problem logging in there, but when I try to jump to the forum, it keeps treating me like a visitor, and when I hit "log in" I'm thrown back to the forum !!!

... edit ...

Okay - I manage to disable the bridge by using the /bridgemgr.php function ... now I guess I'll just keep trying untill it works...

udgang99

This is so strange ... as soon as I deactivate the bridge, I'm loged in as admin ... and when I activate the bridge, I'm loged out, and can't get in ...

Nibbler

That's not atall strange, when you disable the bridge you are still logged in using your Coppermine admin account. You need to get your gallery working so that I can test using that login.

udgang99

Okay ... So I deleted the whole thing AGAIN ... installed everything AGAIN ... same problem !!!

-I'm at a total lose here!
Okay - do you want the bridge to be active, or disabled? (it's active now)

Joachim Müller

On the other thread you started, you ask questions concerning uploads after bridging. Did you manage to solve the issue you brought up on this thread then? It helps if you resolve open threads.

udgang99

Yes - all other problems have been solved ... I'm pretty sure they are marked that way too.

As I explained in the top of this post, I have started from scratch after having played around a bit too much with CPG - having installed all different kind of things. Now I have a totally clean system (gallery and forum), but just can't log in after bridging.

Okay ... I have started from scratch AGAIN !!! ;)

I have a gallery here: www.udgang99.dk/galleri99
(user:test1 - pass:test)

And a forum here: www.udgang99.dk/forum99
(user:test1 - pass:test)

... the two havn't been bridged yet. I just want to know if I got the info right... it will have to look like this, yes? :
BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://www.udgang99.dk/forum99
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../forum99/
Use post-based groups?:  1

- any help will be much appreciated !!!

Joachim Müller

Stop re-installing. Re-doing everything from scratch doesn't give supporters enough time to look into your issues. Re-installing is pointless, you can change things easily for existing installs.
Enable bidging if you need supporters to look into your issues, we can't just guess. The test user account of course must be a test user account of the app that you're trying to bridge coppermine with.

hmmm - funny update:
I installed the "who is online-plugin", and it says that I'm online (as admin, name "udgang99") ... but I still can't use any admin tools, or nothing.

Joachim Müller

www.udgang99.dk does not equal udgang99.dk as far as cookies are concerned. Enable subdomain-independent cookies in your bbs config panel.

udgang99

YES !!!!!!

It works now!!!

THANK YOU, GAUGAU !!!!

azdeltice

I would just like to add (to prevent others from pulling out their hair) that you MAY need to clear your cookies after enabling subdomain-independent cookies in SMF.

I know it should be common sense, but some of the most frustrating problems are solved by the simplest things.
