Images not being resampled

Hi

I'm not 100% sure where to put this as i am fairly sure it is to do with a stuff up I have made with my configuration

My problem is this

I have disabled "Create Intermediate images"
and set my full sized images to a maximum size of 500 px
I have also set jpeg quality to 80%

The problem happens when i get a jpeg that is less than 500Px in size and is above 80% in quality,
it goes straight in without being set to 80%

I realise this is my mistake, not anything to do with the coppermine program

But please help, as i can't figure out how to get around this,

Is there a way to set the quality on these full sized images to 80%

or failing all that, is there a way to set the image quality to 80% on all the images i have up there at the moment

edit: there are 100s of image on the site, so i cant delete and start again

The compression (your 80% setting) is only applied to pics coppermine is suppossed to resize: if pics don't need resizing, the setting won't be applied. After all, Coppermine can't look into the compression ratio that was previously applied to a jpeg file (no application can do this). In fact, the 80% setting doesn't mean that files will be reduced to be 80% of the file size (compared to the original). It's only a compression ration that is inherent to the jpeg file format. It's safe to ignore this, as files that are being uploaded by your users that come in a smaller resolution than 500 pixels already are small in file size. Applying further compression will not reduce the file size, but only make the quality of the pics worse.
Bottom line: leave things as they are now. Google up jpeg compression to get an understanding what it does.
