When uploading a picture, it should be possible to delete the EXIF info of the file.
It's nice to upload pics fast and perhaps directly from the memory card, but why letting the whole world know the chronology of your holidays

I fear it's no MOD available, but maybe this is a nice future feature? :-)

Or is already a tiny hack somewhere out there :?:

Tarique Sani

This is the first request of this kind. Most people are demanding the EXIF information be displayed, used to set dates / keywords in DB

Unlikely that you will find this feature ever in the mainstream distribution
SANIsoft PHP applications for E Biz

Bill_S

There is a very powerful set of applications for removing, adding or changing EXIF data directly in the image file (JPG format plus others).
Before uploading to CPG, run the EXIF utility to remove the EXIF data.

Check out EXIFutils at http://www.hugsan.com/EXIFutils/

Good news:
- Shareware with free demo feature
- Batch processing option
- Extensive documentation
- Available for Windows95/98/ME/XP/2000/2003, x86 Linux, MacOS X, and  Solaris 8&9 (SPARC)

Bad (?) News:
- They are command line apps (no GUI)

Bill
I just want it to work!

pokk

I would like to do the same because EXIF images have +~30KB also with thumbnails so bandwidth is very high.

Nibbler

Try setting -strip as an extra 'Command line options for ImageMagick' in config.

(And then switch to ImageMagick if you're not already, obviously)

Joachim Müller

Exifer can accomplish this as well, but not on the server. Nibbler's suggestion is the only one that applies to images on the server, all other suggestions apply to the client before uploading.
Marked request as "turned down" (see Tarique's reply).
