Yeah yeah no joomla bridge yet....here is a great work around.

Install SMF then Copprmine then bridge them together.
Install Joomla and bridge it to SMF. Set it to use SMF registration.

Done!

Few tweaks here and there for looks but otherwise that is all it seems to need atm. If you can find a good joomla template to wrap the gallery inside let me know .... it seems they are all too small to view the gallery inside a wrappr so I just have it set to open to th parent.

I Hope that helps. I have not fully tested every facet of each utility but it seems to be working.

Same set up.  Everything works fine.

I'm not that good with code so I did my best to make it look as smooth as possible.

Maybe (doubtfully) you'll get some ideas.
Thank you to all who have worked on Coppermine!

Nice layout.

What did you change to be able to use it in the wrapper like that?
And what templates are you using so they all look the same?

I have done what you said.

I then wrapped coppermine in Joomla.

My problem is that when I am logged in the option to "upload a file"  into coppermine dissapears.

I am new to both joomla and coppermine.

any help or advice much appreciated.

That is probably just how you have groups permission settings in copprmine set. Go into coppermin admin panel and go to groups an check your settings there.

What I was explaining here is more the "making the briges" work. That is more of an how do I do such an such in coppemine question.

Granted it is hard to tell the differnce betwen the issues sometimes, but I have been using coppermine for a while now and those were problems I had in the past ;-) if you search my posts here you might find some helpful hints to solve some of your simple problems, and if you search my posts at smf you should find some more (some might apply to older smf versions though but may still work in the newer one)

I hope that helps :)

thanks.. that solved my problem
Sorry to intrude on your thread.
I thought it was something I had done in the bridging of the 3 programs that caused the problem

Anihc

Nah, No intrusion at all :) I am glad it worked out for you.

I would still like to know what templates shiek is useing though :) I think that would be a good base to build a new one on for using all three wrapped up together. :)

Slighty off topic as I don't cuurently bridge my Joomla and Coppermine as im the only user who neads to upload pictures.

My Coppermine just runs in a standard wrapper.  Modified one of the standard themes to fit my template & it works well.  Only prblem with a wrapper is all the pages in the gallery use the same main URL.

My gallery is at www.infullswing.co.uk/gallery

Hi there!  This is cool because I was going to setup a site with Coppermine 1.4.4 & Joomla 1.08 + SMF 1.1 rc2.  Now I'm totally new to all this stuff so its kind of intimidating for me.  I apologize if these are stupid noob questions but when you install Coppermine and SMF do you install them to separate db's and then bridge them or if you want your clients to use only one login do you have to install them into one db?  I'm guessing the same would apply when I install Joomla.  Its own db or the same single one?

been busy past few months with school but if it still helps, mine are in the same database with a different suffix joomla gets jos smf gets smf and coppermine gets cpg. I hope that helps. But it sounds like it works with seperate databases too from what shiek is saying.
