Hi,

Would it be possible to have a feature (core or plugin) that would allow an admin to "Hide" an image?
All details, comments and images should stay intact, but the image would now be available only to admins (either via search or direct access), and can also be "Unhidden".

Moving to a private album wouldn't really work since if you have lots of albums and you hide a few images on each album, you wouldn't have any tracking...

(Same functionality that exists in myphotoalbum.com based albums)

Thanks :)

Benji

edit (by Paver): Removed "feature request" from subject to avoid confusion after moving this thread to the support board.

Are you asking for assistance in creating such a mod?  If so, that's a support question and should be on the appropriate support board.  If so, say so, and a supporter will move the thread to the support board for further discussion.

This is a "NO SUPPORT" board (you should have seen these rules at the top of this board).  This board is meant for people to suggest features for future versions of Coppermine, but with no support provided.  You suggest a feature and the developers decide which ones are valid requests, but no timeline or promise to code such a feature is provided.  As such, a "feature request" should not continue any questions you want answers to.  You merely suggest a feature and that's it.

Well, somewhere in the middle. ;)
I'm way to new to CPG to be able to code such a mod (which is why it fits in here as a feature request), but i was still wondering if someone would have an idea if something close to what i requested is possible to do using the current code...

Paver

This still sounds like a feature request in that you are looking for something right now.  If you read the sticky thread I linked, that's one of the 2 things listed that designate a support request.

Moving to support board . . .

Support requests are valid for those who do not code; oftentimes, someone who can (a supporter, a fellow user) pipes up with a code mod or an add-on or a plugin.

To remove an image from all possible displays of images in Coppermine would be tedious (albums, meta-albums, search results, etc.), but it would be possible of course.  My suggestion is to hijack the "approval" mechanism: un-approve an image and it will only be visible to admins on the "upload approval" page.  This might not be ideal, but it's much easier to code since you are using a current feature of Coppermine.  All the possible displays of images check for approval on an image before displaying it.

I think this suggestion would work, but I haven't looked at how to actually code it yet.  Maybe someone else has tried it or wants to try it.  I'll take a look when I can.
