I am using Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.9.  My site was created by another.  He decided to use this as my image gallery program.  It seems good, but I've been trying for a week to get a few of my videos uploaded with no luck.

The video clips are ones I created.  They are Quicktime movies.  Most are under 1MB in size.  But a few are 2 MB or so in size. I'm guessing this is a problem somewhere?

Also, I have old videos on the site that I want to take off, but it won't let me.  It gives me an error stating, I don't have enough privalages.

Any suggestions? I'm under a crunch.  This was something that was to be done last week.

Here is my site and what I am doing.  www.freaky-frights.com The gallery section is where the videos are kept.

Please help.

if you have upload issue do as suggested under upload troubleshooting
http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#14

We have one issue per thread policy
BTW check the permission on that folder it should be 777 or 755

I read throught the link you posted.  It only describes how to upload files.  Not trouble shooting uploading video problems.  Am I missing something here?

Do you know if there are limitations to uploading video files?  Like file formats, size and resolutions?

This just doesn't seem to make sense that I could upload 20 other video files with no problems, but these last few won't go.

I keep trying to upload just one at a time.  It acts like it's trying to upload, then a message screen come up and states, " 0 uploads were successful".  Then all I can do is click the continue button. And try it all over again.

Any other sugestions?

What upload-method are you using?

FTP-Upload / Batch-Add or Single-File-Upload via PHP?

Using the Single-File-Method as an non-Admin you will maybe be stopped by the size limits of your PHP configuration (often 2 MB). Then it's no problem with coppermine.

QuoteIt gives me an error stating, I don't have enough privalages.
Looks like your're not the Admin of this gallery, right?

I supposedly have full access to this account. I was left in charge of it after the original developer dropped it. I am not a professional web guy by any means.  But I can get around.

Here's what I do to get videos uploaded.

1. I'm on a MAC, I'm assuming it does not matter because I'm using the website to access everything.

2. I launch my browser.

3. I go to my website.

4. I go to the gallery page.

5. I click the log in page and enter.

6. I select upload file.

7. I then upload my files using the upload boxes.

8. I upload one file.

9. I wait for about 1 minute.

10. Then I get the message stating, "0 Uploads were successful".

All the video files are the same format.  Most are under 1MB,  These are all 2MB to 7MB each.

Uploading your files this way is what I meant with 'single file upload' or 'php upload'

On many webservers the max_upload_filesize is limited to 2 MB. If you don't own the webserver, you won't be able to change it (you may ask your webspace provider to increase it, but there're good reasons to keep this limit). You'll find useful information on that topic here....

Anyhow, it does not make much sense, because if you're the gallery admin, you'd better upload any kind of files with an FTP Client.

I don't know any FTP Clients for the MacOS, but surely google will help (Cyberduck looks nice).

You'll need the username and password for FTP access. Ask your webspace provider or the one who has set up your website.

Look for the "albums" folder inside your coppermine path.
Create a new folder inside the albums folder, e.g. "videos". Set this folder to CHMOD 777 (using your FTP client).
If you don't know how this might be helpful.
For a test, upload one larger video into that folder.

If you read this you'll find out how Batch-Add works.

If you can't see the Batch-Add-Link, you have no admin rights. Then you've got a problem and hopefully the phone number of the guy who set up your coppermine  ::)

I experienced the same issue.  Logged on as admin, I was unable to upload any video files (1MB+) using the single file upload option.

The suggestion provided by Lamama did the trick however.  I simply uploaded the video files via FTP to the default "upload folder" and then added the videos to the desired albumbs via the BATCH ADD process and VOILA!

Thanks ever-so-much for this forum it saved me tons of time/aggravation today!
