I converted the jpg files into swf files and uploaded to the cp gallery, but the images wont pop up as jpg images would.
I would like to have flash images popup, similar to the jpg or gif images would.

for example visit:
JPG: http://www.arvins.us/c/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=0
- in this gallery if you click on the jpg image it pops up.

SWF: http://www.arvins.us/c/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=1
- in this swf file wont pop up,

any help on this would be appreciated.

Joachim Müller

Actual links would be http://arvins.us/c//displayimage.php?pos=-2 and http://arvins.us/c//displayimage.php?pos=-1

This is expected behaviour - flash files are suppossed to be movies, not static images. There's little point in converting a static image into a flash file. Movies don't appear in a pop-up, but stay embedded into the page. Missing feature if you want to put it that way.

nivar

the reason im converting it into flash it to prevent coping. (i know is possible to copy swf, and print screen) but i only by expert users.

I want this swf images to also be displayed in pop up window, would that be possible.

Thanks for the replay, here and on the other post.

Joachim Müller

Possible if you code it. Otherwise not.
This is one of the weakest approaches to anti-theft protection that I have ever heard of.
Why don't you just watermark your images, or use the transparent overlay technique? This will fool newbies just as well and saves you a lot of work, as you don't have to convert all your images to flash files. Additionally, you won't lose the pop-up features.

nivar

thanks for the answer, what is "the transparent overlay technique? ", and how i use this feature in cp?

Joachim Müller

Actually, it's not a feature that comes with Coppermine, but a custom modification. Searching the board for "transparent overlay" showed as first result "Prevent downloading of pics - transparent gif overlay". In the future, please search before posting.
