How do I delete the user galleries catagory?

I dont want it.

gstormc

It cant be deleted.

From the Documentation:
QuoteThis category can't be deleted. If a user belongs to the group "can have a personal gallery" and this is set to YES, he will have the right to create his own albums and his gallery will be a sub-category of "User galleries". This link is not visible to visitors of your site, however, if you do not allow users to upload pics and have their own albums.

How do I stop users from registering and having galleries.

I only want it to showcase my photos.

gstormc

In the configuration area, under User Settings, change 'Allow new user registrations' from YES to NO.

Ensure that you have the annonymous Group (In the groups area) set to not allow public albums or personal galleries.

Wrong answer: you can allow user registration (users could rate or comment if you allow them to do so). Just disallow your users to have personal galleries (groups panel). Then get rid of all existing user galleries. If the user gallery category is emtpy, it will disappear (i.e. it will not be displayed). Has been asked and answered often, please use the search.

If you read what the question was he asked 'How do I stop users from registering and having galleries.' in which case the answer I gave was sufficient.

How do I delete the user galleries catagory?

Moonset

Someone posted an album in my photo gallery (http://www.jaimeking.net/gallery/) At the time I didn't know how to configure my settings so it was allowed but now I have reset everything back to NO (not allowing anyone to have private or public albums) and you said that if you did this the users wouldn't be able to see the 'user galleries' category but you can http://www.jaimeking.net/gallery/index.php / http://www.jaimeking.net/gallery/index.php?cat=1 it even is showing '1' album on the information when no albums are in there the same problem happens here http://missportman.com/gallery/index.php?cat=13 (showing 3 but nothing is there)

Can someone PLEASE help me fix this. I really never liked the user galleries feature (It's just a personal choice for my fansites I like to be in control of what is uploaded due to so many agencies which may contact you for copyright reasons and so fourth) if this is unfixable I really think for the next script update it should be introduced as a way to fully remove this feature. I LOVE coppermine (it has made my life a breaze) so I don't want to 'put it down' but this category bugs me.  Please help! Thanks! ???

Joachim Müller

Disallow your users to have personal galleries. Then delete all user galleries that your users have created so far. If there are no user galleries left, the corresponding category won't be displayed any longer.

Okay I knew it was something like that but I was generally looking for 'how' to do it.

Anyways I did some messing and figured it out on my own. For anyone who may need to know: I clicked 'sort my pictures' inside the admin pannel and the user galleries came up. I deleted those members and their files.

Thanks for the help.
