I'd already searched but I couldn't find was mention of a specific feature I wanted.  I'm want to run Coppermine on my home network server (no access from web).  I want to be able to move across my digital photo archive into coppermine and have the gallery recursively search the subfolders and add the photos.

However, I want to keep my photo archive "clean" and not have any thumbnails created in the same folders - I'd like them to be stored outside of the archive folder tree.

Does anyone know if coppermine is able to do this.

I can't remember if I took the Red pill or the Blue pill, now I'm all confused...

You can use the mass import plugin to scan through several folders. However, coppermine always expects the thumbnails to reside in the same folder the orginal file is in. To change this, you'd have to edit the core code in many places - not recommended.

Bottom line: out of the box, coppermine is not able to accomplish this.
