Problem uploading and creating reduced size image

Hello,

2 months ago, the site I'm working on was hacked via coppermine (I think) and so I upgraded it to version 1.4.18.
Now I can't upload pictures anymore. I read and did everything written in the upload troubleshooting pages but I didn't achieved to solve the problem.

So I decided to create a test-user account and ask some supporters to help me !

The detailed error message is :
"The file 'albums/userpics/10003/butlertest.jpg' can't be inserted in the album
Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image."

I use GD to reduce the pictures and the admin of the webhost say that there's no problem with GD !
The current configuration is the one described in the upload troubleshooting documentation (debug mode for everyone, upload restrictions ...)

Here is the test-user account pass :
    user : test
    pass : test

You are having problem whit permission, please, read the docs: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#permissions

And then, there is a FAQ by Joachim Müller, I'm going to quote:

FIRST AND FOREMOST: CHECK YOUR PERMISSIONS ON THE /ALBUMS, /ALBUMS/USERPICS, AND /ALBUMS/EDIT DIRECTORIES.  ALL SHOULD BE 777 OR 755.

If you don't know what we mean when we write 777 or 755,  you need to do a Google search on UNIX file permissions.  Windows has a similar set of file permissions. You can usually set these permissions using your FTP client.     

For those of you who skim over statements written in large letters, I will repeat to try to get your attention:

YES, WE ARE WRITING ABOUT SOMETHING THAT COULD APPLY TO YOU.   

WE REPEAT -- CHECK YOUR PERMISSIONS ON THE /ALBUMS, /ALBUMS/USERPICS, AND /ALBUMS/EDIT DIRECTORIES.  ALL SHOULD BE 777 OR 755.

YES, WE WANT YOU TO CHECK THE PERMISSIONS OF EACH FOLDER EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS. YES, WE MEAN IT.

Hello, thanks for answering !

I checked again and again the permissions of the album directory and every directory inside. The permission is 755. I tried to test the upload with the permission 777 too and I always find the same error :

The file 'albums/userpics/10001/butlertest~8.jpg' can't be inserted in the album
Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image.

Perhaps there is something I misunderstand in the permissions but I don't know what  :-\.
For now, the album directory permissions are set on 755 and every directory inside too.

Well, if you try correctly wath I told you and didn't work, unfortunaly you will have to do a bigger work:

Try this guide that Gaugau made for the hacked sites. Good luck! Post your results.
