Hi All

I have the same problem with coppermine and anytime I upgrade, coppermine tells me I have most of the files missing, I've even took the pains to uploading each file one by one, yet I get the same results. I've compared all my files locally with my hosted files, and they are all there and the correct file size etc. It has never affected my gallery so I'm not too worried it's just more of an annoyance than anything else. Is it possible that it might be caused by the way my host configures the server?

Kind Regards - James

Do not hijack other threads, always start your own.

Read the documentation about Upload troubleshooting and follow the steps as described there.

Not related to initial install, but to upgrading, so the thread should have been moved into the install sub-board imo...
If versioncheck is reporting your files as outdated, make sure that your FTP client is actually replacing the files on the server. Also make sure that you're not looking at a cached copy of that page.

@Hein: how is this related to upload troubleshooting?

The OP is saying that when using versioncheck.php, all of the files are listed as 'missing' in the results after an upgrade. Nothing was said in his post about files being 'outdated'.

You get a readout like this:
You have currently installed: 1.4.18
Total files/folders checked:  255
Mandatory files missing:  124
Optional files missing:  131
Files left over from outdated Coppermine version:  0
Outdated file versions:  0

This only happens on my server with sites that use the root folder for the gallery.

SAME SERVER DIFFERENT SITE

When I have a Coppermine Gallery setup using anysite.com/gallery
or any other folder name, the output is correct as it should be like this:

You have currently installed: 1.4.18
Total files/folders checked:  255
Mandatory files missing:  1
Optional files missing:  0
Files left over from outdated Coppermine version:  1  (in this case it was anycontent.php which was saved as instructed in update)
Outdated file versions:  0

And I know for a fact it did update correctly, as I went in and looked at the uploaded files using PSPad. it's just versioncheck.php doesn't like the 'no sub-folder' issue of the first site for some reason.

Just wanted to share what I found for others that might run across this.

There's box you can tick on the page to tell Coppermine that it is installed in the root.

And it works like a charm when you tick the proper box as well!!!

Thanks!

Have the same problems with Version Check. and my coppermine is installed in a subdomain. I have it checked as 'not in root'. should I change that?
Mac OSX 10.3.9, CopperMine 1.4.18, not bridged.
