I need to know what the section with the images/Catogories is called on the main page, and where do I edit in the style sheet? How do I get in the center of the page?

What you edit in the style sheet depends on the theme. Best if you can give us a link or least which theme you're using.
Did you read the manual first???? Taking 2 minutes to backup your files can save you hours of wondering what you screwed up.
