Hi,
When I try and publish via the web publishing wizard on one of my sites it won't login and just redisplays the login screen. I have tried creating new admin users but I get the same result.
Is the latest version of coppermine and all other sites on the server work fine with the web publishing wizard.

Please let me know if you need anymore info.

Thanks

Joachim Müller

Yeah, we need more info. In fact, we summarized the info we need in the docs. The section you need to read is "asking for support on upload issues". Do exactly as suggested there.

kingspice

Gallery URL:
http://www.latinshakira.com/pictures
Just created test:test user in Registers users group.

Am able to add pictures fine from the upload.php and also batch adding. The issue is purely with xp_publish.php.

kingspice

Just saw on another thread, someone with a similar issue. Now if I log into the gallery first via IE it works.

However, on my other coppermines this is not necessary.

kingspice

Also when I create an album via the publisher, whatever I enter, an album with an empty name is created.

kingspice

Sorry please use the following gallery to address issue:
http://www.meganzone.com/pictures
Username: test
Password: test

http uploads work as expected, see http://meganzone.com/pictures/displayimage.php?pos=-1

Uploading via XP Publisher is not working as expected, which is pretty understandable - you haven't even bothered to change the default gallery name and decription, so it's quite likely that you haven't filled in the rest of coppermine's config. It seems that my http upload was the first one ever on your gallery, so you don't even seem to have tried http uploading for yourself. Did you actually read the docs? Take a look at the permissions for the albums folder as well.

Hi,
I run ten large celebrity coppermine galleries on the same server which all work fine with XP Publish.
Yes http uploads are working fine, the only issue is with xp_publish, as stated.

I have read the doc several times (doesn't say anything about troubleshooting xp_publish). Please let me know if anywhere I've not seen to try some additional steps.

As far as I know there is nothing related to xp_publish in the config either (once again please correct if wrong).

Also xp_publish.log doesn't appear to update (chmodded 777) with any error information.

Any steps to try and find the cause/solution for this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Try the more detailed version from the preliminary docs for cpg1.5.x - they should apply for cpg1.4.x as well as far as XP Publisher is concerned.

Had a look through the docs and all settings appear to be in order.

Should errors be logged in the xp_publish.log file in the root coppermine directory? I had to manually create this file and CHMOD 777 it.

Not in this case, since there is no actual error.

I think you need to change your gallery URL setting in config to http://www.meganzone.com/pictures/ (with the www.). You get stuck in a redirect loop otherwise when you try to login via xp_publisher.

Ah great, this fixed all the issues. Very good spot there.

Thanks a lot for the help.

That's what I was trying to say as well

so it's quite likely that you haven't filled in the rest of coppermine's config.
Reviewing the config and actually filling in valid data did the trick.
