By default, CP is designed not to show the user galleries unless you click on the catagory name.  How do you make it so they are always visible like albums in the admin defined catagories?

Joachim Müller

They behave differently by design. There's a hack to show them on the first page, but the drawback of the hack is that you then don't see the public categories no longer.
Making the user galleries behave the same way the public categories behave currently is impossible by design.

I said it was by design, that's obvious.  But, since all fuctions related to this question are exectuted through the coding in the php files, it can be changed and, it can be changed so that the public ablums are not affected.  It's not simple since "open source" coding is so free form in it's stucture and so many folders and files have to be modified,  but it still means that it is possible, isn't it?  I'll answer my own redundant question.  Yes, it is.

In essence, what needs to be done is to assign the same permission and functionional code to create an album in a catagory to a user which is the same for the admin catagory.  This is a code change in the applicable .php files, So don't tell me it can't be done.  I'll figure it out.

Thanks for the help.

Well if you are so sure that it can be done then go right ahead.  ;)

If you succeed we welcome any contribution from which others may benefit for their coppermine galleries.

Cheers
