Hey,

Personally I think a big disadvantage to coppermine is the messy html code generated. I'm developing a BIG project and will only use 100% validated, w3c compliant xhtml ( eg. no tables for design etc...).

I will recode it myself if I have to, but why not gather a couple of developers with xhtml knowledge and do this in a structured way?

If people are interested sign up and we can set up some guidelines and divide the code among us.

Edit: This is probably not for the average users since themes et c will be obsolete, but there must be more people than me who want this...? ;)

yep, i am definitely interested in creating a table less (read xhtml compliant) "theme" for coppermine. unfortunately i'm a bit short on time until next week, but then i could start creating/helping create a xhtml theme.

<?php echo signature(); ?>

Has any progress been made of this? I am going to have an attempt at this too.

First, I'll be deleting all bits of code that don't add to the structure (spacers etc.). I will then attempt to clean up the tables into valid xhtml and css before converting to a table-less design. The last stage I know I will strugle with as have I no php knowledge (yet).

You can check out my gallery at http://gallery.w116.org where I have already started the process.

Thanks,
Mike.
