SO, This is what I want to happen, and it is just not happening.
I want to create albums with passwords.... but i want to be able to give the passwords to some someone..and have the go on the gallery (as a guest), and be able to enter that password.

Everytime i set a password for a album, no one else can even see the thumbnail for the album, in order to even enter a password.. it just looks like there are no albums there at all.

i tried changing the album properties so that 'everyone' can view..but it wont allow that option to be saved while i have a password on it.

Is what i am doing possible?!

HELP!

Yes. You need to enable 'display private icon' in config.

any idea what else could be the problem..

heres the gallery

if you look in the Test Category, you cant see the album right?

its probably because its set for admin to view only... but when i try to change it to 'everybody' it will not allow to save that option while i have a password entered. :/

That's a known problem. You need at least one normal (no password) album in the user's gallery. It won't show up otherwise.

Since I searched the forums for this exact piece of information, I was wondering why this 'known bug' is not mentioned in the documentation?  I looked in the manual, the FAQ, and finally here, before posting a question about it. Did I miss a Known Problems document?  Anyway, as a bit of a follow up: does each user with his own album(s) have to have at least one unpassword protected album?  Can the unprotected album have no pictures in it, in order for others to see the private album icon?  No public (anonymous) logins will be allowed.  The advanced setting for showing the "button" for private albums stills needs to be set to 'yes', even for Registered users? (the setting says it is for unlogged users).

I can't figure out how to get this to work. I have one unprotected album with no pictures in it. I want all others to be password protected. When viewing my gallery the password protected ones do not show up.
