(Maybe I am having a really bad luck streak :-[)

When I upload or batch add files, I get thumbnails that say "404 can't read that file". (There are nothing wrong with the images I'm uploading, by the way).

You've been around a while now and should be aware that you need to post a link.

I'm sure you are also aware that with upload problems you should read and do everything outlined in the asking for support on upload issues section of the docs.

As you have been around for a long time and know all this I won't ask you for them, honest ;)

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Did you read the bit on enabling debug and single file uploads? ;)

I left both options as 0 didn't I?

OK I fixed that.

I hope I don't jinx myself when I say this, but its working now  :)

Well, then you could have done as suggested per board rules "Common policies: Resolve your threads ". Your attitude really starts to upset me: you have indeed been around long enough and we had to remind you about board rules often enough. I understand that nobody is prefect, but I'm no longer ready to tolerate your constant laziness. Next misbehaviour (not respecting board rules) will result in a ban.

I can't tell anyone how I fixed it because I didn't do anything, it just all of a sudden started working for me. Just like it all of a sudden started not working.

Whatever. But what keeps you from doing as suggested then? Let me quote the board rules for you, as you appear to be too lazy to just click the link I posted and read the corresponding section:

If you have found an answer to your question, resolve your thread. Don't just post "I have found the answer", but tell others what you actually did to solve your issues. Posting a link to the page where you found the answer might help. Describing what you did might help as well. Finally, you can tag your answer as "solved" by clicking on the little image (see attachment) in your initial posting on your thread.
