I am using Coppermine for years and I am very happy with it. Recently I had a visit from a @#$%^hacker who managed to replace all index.php and index htm files.
Apart from a separate ecard  program nothing was destroyed. Simply placed back the back up and searched for any more files probably edited. I am clean now but i like to upgrade to a newer version. And there starts the trouble. Where is my database.
I have 2 hosting accounts at Godaddy with several dbases but none of them belongs to the coppermine.
I also installed a community offered by godaddy but they installed that outside of my space. To avoid that Godaddy advises to make your own installation on your own space. I did that with the coppermine, so I assumed the database was there too.
Is it possible (I can remember such tips) that go daddy users are to be advised to store the database elsewhere? An if so Where.
Without a back up, i m not upgrading.

Without an upgrade you can be hacked once again.

You should read and follow the steps in thread:

        Yikes, I've been hacked

Use your godaddy control panel (or whatever interface they provide) to get your db info.. Perhaps they even have installed phpMyAdmin for users too. If the site was hosted on godaddy then the db was also on godaddy.

Remember to post a link to your Coppermine in your next postings - it is a rule of this support forum.

I asked Godaddy support, But there is none
And yes they have phpMYadmin and I have over 5 databases running in the Linux hosting (in the windows hosting no databases.)
(Packardgoose forum database, Packardgoose ecard database, packard goose simplealbum database, packardgoose chat database, Ploeg Ecards database) but no Coppermine database.

Did you copy that info. from www.ploeg.ws/coppermine/include/config.inc.php?

The 10.0.11.146 address should be for an internal/non-public use and (to me anyway..) does not fit.

cogwheel

It is used a lot in combination with coppermine. Try to google on it.
Checked my site again and sorry not 5 but 6 mysql databases and 2 sql databases all known, but no coppermine.

Ask your webhost, not us. We can't help you figure out your database details. Your webhost can.

cogwheel

tnx for your kind helpfull words, probably lost with soccer?  :D
If they can't as stated in the second last post of me , and you can't or would help.
It is all over.

Only you and your webhost will know those details. They are password protected for a reason. There is no way we can find them out for you.

Take a look at your include.config.inc.php file with a plain text editor and that should have the details of your db inside. Then check to see if those details correspond with anything on your serve via phpmyadmin.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I haven't posted what I said above because I was annoyed with anything - it was just the facts. You're dragging this on a level where it doesn't belong. The old rivalry between the Netherlands and Germany as far as soccer is concerned doesn't matter on this board, so stop it, will you?

Stop claiming that we don't want to help you - that's not true. I told you as it is: we can not help you. Stop your lame accusations.

From this user via my website email ::)

QuoteThank you for your advise on the coppermine forum. Sorry to say that I dislike the
style of Mr. Muller.

I've already done all what you said but there is really no database in my hosting.

I can remember, that a few years ago godaddy users always had problems on this issue
and it was advised to stall your database elswhere at a coppermine friendly host. I
think I did that but looses everything on a disk crash last year

BTW nice site this one

We disabled PM's for a reason. Shouldn't that be enough of a hint that you should only contact us via the forum?

Never give up, they say... and finally I managed to solve my (and probably a lot of godaddy users) problem.
I searched and found the backup plugin.
Made a dump from the database ( I presume it is somewhere on the server but not reachable for me)
Created a new empty SQL database
Copied the total coppermine directory including everything to a new dir coppermine2
Removed install lock from dir. Include
Runned the install PHP ( The tableprefix must be the same as in the dump) and coppermine 2 was up and running but empty
Than I edited the sqldump (The URL in the stats was pointing to the old dir)
After that I restored the database from the dump with the use of the plugin.
Bingo
You can see the results
on www.ploeg.ws/coppermine (with the somewhere database)
and www.ploeg.ws/coppermine2 ( with a new for me reachable database)
Finally I can make a database back up via Myphp admin and upgrade the gallery.

Tnx to the makers of the backup plugin2.3
