hello,

I'm pretty sure I followed the bridging directions properly, but I'm running into a snag.

coppermine is installed using it's on database..as is mybb.

so I installed coppermine then check to see if it let me login and etc, which it did.  same for mybb..works fine.  when I go to integrate the 2, that's when I have problem.

I enter all the info for the bridging process and when it's finished, I click login and it takes me to my mybb login page and I login using 1 of my admin account and it redirects me to the gallery page as if I never logged in.

the forum url:
http://www.vehiclecommunity.com/forum

gallery url:
http://www.vehiclecommunity.com/forum

for the /inc file, I used these settings

../forum/inc

which is where my mybb config file is.

what am I doing wrong?!

Actually, you have not followed the instructions to ask for help properly. Read up When requesting bridge support - must read! and do as suggested there.

URLs are identical - both point to the forum as far as I can see. Actual URL that points to your gallery is http://www.vehiclecommunity.com/gallery/ (just guessed).

the url was a mistake on my end.

yes, the gallery is installed at
http://www.vehiclecommunity.com/gallery

I have the following issue when trying to bridge coppermine and mybb:
[when I go to login to the gallery, it redirects me to mybb to login which I do and it says it worked fine then it redirects me back to coppermine and it still shows me as not being logged in.]

Coppermine install: http://vehiclecommunity.com/gallery
Bridging app install: http://vehiclecommunity.com/forum
Coppermine version: cpg1.5.6
Bridging app version: Mybb 1.4.13
Test user account: copperminetest/test123

BridgeManager settings:
Bridge app URL:  http://vehiclecommunity.com/forum
Relative path to your bridge app's config file:  ../forum/inc (public_html/vehiclecommunity/forum/inc)
Cookie name or prefix:  .vehiclecommunity (domain)  /forum/ (path)  prefix is left blank in mybb.
Use post-based groups?:  ?  I'm not sure what this means

I'm getting a deja vu.

You have set the cookie path in your forum to be /forum/. Subsequently, Coppermine won't be able to read that cookie. Review your forum's cookie settings - set the cookie path to /

how can change the cookie path and which cookie path should i change is it for coppermine or mybb
Quote from: Joachim Müller on June 22, 2010, 12:30:45 PM
I already told you that you need to change your forum's cookie path. I have no idea how that is done in detail, as I don't know your forum software - it's a third-party product to me. Refer to your forum's documentation or ask on the support board for your forum app if you have no idea how to accomplish this. Coppermine needs to be able to read the cookie that is being set by your forum. If that cookie is only readable for applications that reside in the folder /forum/ (seen from the web root), then coppermine won't be able to read that cookie, as it doesn't reside within that folder. You need to change this, i.e. your forum's cookie path needs to be set to "/" (witout the quotes), i.e. just to the web root. If this will be the case, both coppermine as well as your forum will be able to read the cookie, which is what we're trying to achieve here.

The re-direction to and fro is expected behaviour and exactly how the bridging mechanism is supposed to work. The fact that the login you performed in your forum doesn't stick in Coppermine is caused by the fact that Coppermine can't read the forum's cookie for reasons explained in the above quotes.

Decide for one. The first one is a relative one, the second an absolute path. As you're requested to enter the relative path it should be obvious which one to use.

As suggested above, that's the reason for your issues. Fix that (in your forum).

Look it up then: http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/bridging.htm#bridge_manager_specific_groups

The fact that your gallery still shows the default Your gallery name here as gallery name shows that you haven't bothered to go to your gallery's config at least once and perform the needed edits there. Do so now!

Shemo

cool, it's fixed.

I haven't tweaked anything in the gallery yet because I wanted to get the bridge set up first.

thanks for the help.
