Hey Folks,

I realize this question was asked 6 years ago, and a sort of answer by proxy was given as 'solved' (the response didn't answer the question at all), but maybe a glossary of terms might be helpful. One of the things that seems to me to be problematic for resolving, asking, and searching for information on here is the jargon. I'm still not exactly sure what a 'meta album' is, as one example. It'd help enormously when searching for information, as I'd know better what terms I need to be looking for, and it would help enormously when I read those search results, etc, to clearly understand them. What might seem like clear instructions, for example, to a developer or someone familiar with code might be completely confusing to others. In the long run, it might possible save a bunch of time for the support staff here.

Thanks,

Cheers

Carl

Sorry, but is this a joke? That's explained e.g. on the first(!) site of the docs:
QuoteMeta albums:
admin can specifiy what virtual extra albums can be used to provide alternative "views" or methods to browse the gallery:

    last commented
    last added
    random picture
    browse-by-date meta-album (cpg1.5.x)
    most viewed
    top rated
    favorites

That discussion still applies. Please don't abuse the feature requests board.

Hey André

Thanks.

The post, however, is not a joke, just an idea that I thought might be helpful to some. Maybe a glossary could be useful. It puts all such queries in one place.

PS - I don't understand how suggesting a glossary is an abuse of a feature request. Certainly no "abuse" was intended.

This board is for suggesting features for future versions of coppermine.

Hey André

I posted the suggestion here because I thought that a glossary could be a helpful feature. I can't post in the G/D forum, and it's not a support request, so I'm not sure where else I might have posted this. It was/is a suggestion for a feature (though a feature of the docs, still a feature) that could be added some time down the road; not necessarily immediately. If you feel the suggestion is in the wrong forum, please feel free to move it to the appropriate board.

Sometimes posting on these boards feel a little like this. :)

Cheers
