From Thumbnail to actual, raw image url

Hello,
as a returning coppermine user i am currently trying to rebuild my old gallery with the current 1.5.20 version.
I do not have a url because i am still in the stages of local testing.

A few years ago i found this modification that would allow my original images to be opened as true serverside image urls from the thumbnail view.

No popups, no displayimage.php at all. Clicking on a thumbnail would lead me to the true file path, opening the image in my browser window like for example:

I tried many different search terms but i can not find the thread with the description on how to mod coppermine, again.
