I have recently installed coppermine to my website and would like to have separate users able to access the coppermine as if they were the only user. IE, when they hit the home button, they are taken to their own main categories instead of a list of all of the other users. How do I begin doing this?

An example would be (these are dummy examples to show what the url would look like)
http://www.graphicintention.com/coppermine/cassedy/index.php
http://www.graphicintention.com/coppermine/marcia/index.php
http://www.graphicintention.com/coppermine/delani/index.php

If you want such URLs the probably easiest way is to install Coppermine several times.

Percy

I was looking to have the same url, just different index for each new user. I will go back and install a new copy of coppermine for each new user. I was just hoping there would be an easier way.

Thank you for the quick response.

Just a thought.  Before you do this, I would check with your host to make sure they haven't set inode limits on your account, otherwise they will soon mount up doing this. ;)
Running SMF 2.1.4  / Tinyportal 3.0.1, bridged with Coppermine 1.6.25, plus cpmfetch 2.0.0

If you don't need your above mentioned URLs, i.e. if it can be http://www.graphicintention.com/coppermine/index.php for all users, you just need to install Coppermine once. You can set permissions for albums, but not categories. However, if a user has no permission to access an album it will be hidden (or displayed with a padlocked icon, depends on setup). Thus, if he/she has no access to any album, the category looks empty. Please search the boards how to hide empty categories (there's at least one mod and also a plugin). I think this is what you're looking for?

Please, if you want help then please followed the board rules. This includes not hijacking other people's threads and instead starting your own in the correct section of the forums - http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,55415.0.html

In your case all the information you need to solve your problem is in te docs - http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/

Please take time to look at the above 2 links before posting again.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Percy

I loaded up coppermine for the other two users as a temporary fix. But I think what I was looking for is called sub-domains. I did check with my hosting service and I can have up to 10 accounts, which is fine because I only need three.

Here are some real examples of what I am talking about. Please look carefully, some content not suitable for children or work.

http://www.portalofdreams.com/galleries/Rue/

You can see how they both are through the same website, and in "galleries" but there is no way to get between "Turs" and Rue" directly. If that makes better sense?

I still don't get what exactly you're looking for. Do you want to maintain one gallery, but display different content to different users or do you want to have three separate galleries?
