Quote from: Wroenco on July 22, 2004, 08:58:51 PMThe problem can be replicated in ANY instance of Coppermine. And the reason I know? Because I have solved the problem.
@Wroenco: if you're not happy with the answers given and you think you have found a generic bug, it'd be very nice of you to post your bugfix. This is what a board is also good for.

This discussion has already been lead with high flaming potential, so I suggest sticking to the facts only.

If it should be discovered that it was wrong to move this thread to the pnCPG sub-board, it could easily be moved back, so please stop arguing about the thread being moved here.

Well, right from the start of this thread, you have come across as someone who thinks they know better, and will not listen.

Well I also tested, and it is not generic.  As you can see from the pics attached, which are from 2 different standard installs, without your 'fix', the pagination works just fine, on a standalone install.

So I think you are not actually looking for support, but just trying to find problems to flame the board.
You have just shown on this thread, that the problem lies between your keyboard and your chair.

I suspect this thread will turn up on another applications board as proof of how they do things better than us.

Hey Casper, you want to learn some manners. You haven't the faintest idea of my motivation. You are speaking from a position of ignorant prejudice. Listen, I found a problem. I posted a question. The question wasn't answered. GuaGau WITNESSED the problem. Decided it was limited only to pnCPG and moved the posting to here. All those so-called experts did not offer help. You included. You just maintained denial instead of responding fairly to a sincere request.

I have been posting to opensource and propriety boards for seven years. As my knowledge matures I offer help and tips to newbies. I have nothing to be ashamed of. I found the solution whereas you offered only arrogance and sneers. You are not worthy. I never criticised anyone or challenged their competence. You and your ilk are "opensource" with closed minds. You have done nothing to inspire newcomers with your attitude. You started to flame me because you can and are part of the clique that closed the door.

Shame on you Casper. Your are a faint apparition of generosity. You have a problem and it lies somewhere between the keyboard and your chair (unquote). How dare you presume! You have only demonstrated how mean you can be. I forgive you. I pity you. I will pray for you.

But I predict your thread will appear on other applications boards as proof of how arrogant and ignorant you are.

If you cant take it don't dish it buddy.

QuoteI forgive you. I pity you. I will pray for you

I thank you.

Now, will you please give us a link to the actual installs, that actually display these problems, and as you insist it is generic, please give links to such up to date standalone installs as well.

Or are you going to continue to moan about something we cannot replicate, but not give us the chance to actually do anything about it, as you have so far.

By the way, I will happily stack up those who think about me as you say you do, against those that think otherwise.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

It realy seen that the problem is not only for one person ...

I'm experiencing the same problem ....

How do i solve this ....

And please calm down ... getting nervous won't help anyone ....

Don't always blame on the others ... try to see if there is a problem with your code ...

I've posted this in other boards ... i think that explains the problem ....

the links to the pics above are from another guy with the same problem ... in january this year

QuoteHi there we have installed PHPNUKE 7.0 and CPG 1.2.2.
Everything was ok until the moment that we uploaded an album with more than 12 pictures (default display). It simple makes a mess up of everything ... we can't see the page number of the next pages and the border of the theme desapears ....
It seems that the tables are misconfigured !

I've tried with mozilla and IE6. On a local server it works fine with IE6. When I upload the site it doesn't work, even with IE6. This 2 pics posted earlier by another fellow ilustrate the problem. He didn't get a conclusive answer to this problem.
Someone, please, help!!

Hi Sad angel,

finally, with the pics, we are able to see the problem.

First, as has been said many times, the standalone version has many code dofferences to the cms versions, so we can only talk about that.

The problem you show in the pics was discussed once on the standalone boards (your links are to the cms coppermine boards, where most of us have never been), on this thread, http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=4796.0.

As you can see, it was found to be a problem caused by the users firewall.

Hope this helps.

ps, the posting of links, and screenshots is always advised, so thanks for that.

So I guess the bottomline still is that - we have not yet seen the problem in Standalone Coppermine install - and thus cannot do anything about it

the phenomenon we're experiencing on this thread is widely known a "trolling". I recommend that all who read this thread keep this in mind...

I'm hoping that u after this post can explain me better what u ment by

The phenomenon we're experiencing on this thread is widely known a "trolling".

because for me .... trolling as in the link that u post is ....

"A post (on a newsgroup, or other forum) thought to be intended to incite controversy or conflict or cause annoyance or offense."

Are u trying to tell me that i tried one of those?

1 - I have a problem so I ask to the ones that suposatly know how to solve it - I do not intend to incite controversy;
2 - I'm a peace maker - I've posted "Please calm down ... " - I did not start a conclifct .... I had a problem remember !!!;
3 - Finnaly if I cause any annoyance or if I offended u in any way .. I'm really sorry .... And again I only had a problem same as Wroenco ... but it seems that u, the ones who could help are more interested in labeling people than solving problems ... I promise that I'll try to not come back here again.

After all I ask how can this be a troll ... Casper even has post's that solved the problem .... and it really is solved ... i really didn't understand your quote ... i think that it was unnecessary ... but ... u are the one who really knows ...

Thanks any way

By the way who are the guys that produce the CMS ... how can i contact them? I thoght that u were the ones.

Sadangel,

as Tarique said, Gaugau's comments were not aimed at you.

The support boards for coppermine for cms (cpgnuke etc) is at www.nukephotogallery.com

@sadangel: sorry you got this wrong, I didn't mean you when I talked about trolling. Your posting was perfectly OK, you posted a professional report. In fact I was blaming Wroenco to be trolling. Please accept my apologies.

Well ok than!!!  ;D
I wasn't really understanding "why i was a troll" ... but ok ... i accept the "apologies"  ::)
