I can upload files fine. But, they all go in the first album I created.

How do I move them to a different album I already created. Or, I can simply delete the wrongly placed ones. But then, how do I upload into a particular album.

please help

thanks in advance

First, when you upload, on the page that you can add descriptions etc., there is a box that has the albums you can upload to.  Simply choose the album you want.

To move pics already in an album, click on the 'edit pics' button next to the album thumbnail, and do the same there.

Remember to click the 'apply modifications' button when you have finished.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Is there a way you can set the default album to upload to other than the first album you created.  For example I`d like all uploaded pics by visitors to go in a temporary folder.

unless you want to change bits of the code, there's no way to specify a "default" album, but you could remove upload permissions for regular user to the album in question, leaving them only with one album they could possibly upload to (properties button next to the album's thumbnail).

P.S. it's advisable not to confuse the words "albums" and "folders" when talking about coppermine, since they're different things  ;)

This is sort of what I was wondering about as well. I want to intergrate Coppermine in my present site and for that I have a feature request.

Would it be possible (for me) to provide a link to my visitors an a sertain page wich would make their upload go directly into a given album? Say I have a site about sport cars (I don't but..) and I have one page about Porsche 911. On that page I would somehow allow visitors to upload their pictures of this specific model. Either with an upload form with Porsche 911 predifined or a link saying something like www.mysite.com/coppermine/upload.php?album=porsche911

I suppose it will take quite a bit of coding and I am sure not able to do it but maybe someone else feels like hacking?
I would be ever gratefull!

Sorry for bumping but this is still a major issue for me.

I've started populating my gallery with albums, so far I have created about 150 of them. Still I have to creat about twice as much. If my gallery is the succes I expect it to be it will save me a lot of time for than I will no longer get pictures by email which I have to add manually to my pressent gallery. However, I do think I will be getting a lot of cleaning up to do in the gallery. In the way uploading to CPG is done now you will get a long list of albums where a picture can be placed. Items in this list are more or less radomly placed it seems and with over 500 albums to choose from I expect problems. Any way this can be organised in a more user friendly way?

Laurenz

I think what you are looking for is located here. "Select album" upload pulldown list sorted, organized and formated. It's a hot topic and everyone seems to be searching for it these days.
