Okay... I need to integrate a new phpbb with an existing CPG install.  I've read the docs and I'm told I will lose all users and their uploads. Is there any way to temporarily move them then restore them after a successful integration?  It's not a lot of people and only about 15-20 uploads but I've been having a great deal of difficulty keeping things running smoothly on my site recently and my members and visitors can only put up with so much. (I currently have a YABB board running on an unreliable host and downtime has exceeded up time.)  I'm afraid any more "flakiness" on my part will only drive away even the most loyal of my members.

Please, if you can help me, I'll be eternally grateful.  Thanks.

The situation is as described in the docs - you will lose the users and the corelation to their uploads when switching from an unbridged to a bridged install. If you used to have YaBB SE running, why don't you upgrade to SMF? If you insist to use phpBB, use the converter that is available on the phpbb board to convert your existing yabbse users to phpbb. Then bridge the phpbb board with coppermine and you're done (although you'll still use the users from standalone coppermine, be warned). In your case, it should be easy to manually convert, with only a few users and uploaded pics existing.

I have YaBB.cgi running.  It's not MySQL - it's flat-file.  And I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to convert to phpbb.  If hosts wouldn't quibble about giving us unlimited resources, we wouldn't have problems like these, would we?  ;)

If you're willing to shell out the funds, you can get whatever you want. ;) That's the limiting factor.

OK, sorry - I didn't read your posting thoroughly enough then.
Afaik there's a converter from YaBB (CGI app with flat file) to YaBB SE (PHP with mySQL). Do this conversion, and from there, you can convert to anything you like - there are convertors from YaBB SE to SMF (recommended), but as well to phpBB and other BBS apps.
