The documents from Coppermine say to place in the phpBB directory.  If my board path is

http://mydomain.us/phpBB/phpBB2/index.php where do I place the cpg_redir.php file ?

Joachim Müller

into http://mydomain.us/phpBB/phpBB2/ (although this is a silly path in the first place).

why repeat the path info, making the url long and unfirendly both to humans and search engines?
I suggest you use http://mydomain.tld/gallery/ for coppermine and http://mydomain.tld/forum/ for the board.

Thanks for your quick reply.  Just to clarify if I use the path you suggested I will then need to re-direct to the web file.  Thus if someone inputs www.mydomain.com/gallery I will need to re-direct the file to cgp32/index.php.

I'm glad this support is available.  My web hosting company suggested Coppermine and I think it we'll do fine fo everything we need on our site.

:)

don't use redirection. Just rename the folder "cpg132" to "gallery" on your webserver (using your ftp app), that's all (you will have to go to coppermine config afterwards and change the coppermine url in "target for ecards" as well).

I changed it to mydomain.com/gallery, but the page will not appear unless I input mydomain.com/gallery/index.php.  Did I do something wrong ?

Thanks !

Joachim Müller

your webserver seems not to be properly configured. Ask your webhost to change this behaviour - if a file called index.php resides in a folder, the webserver is suppossed to default to this index page. Meanwhile, you can use mydomain.com/gallery/index.php

Thanks.  I contacted my WebHosting company and it now defaults to index.

I appreciate the help.  I probably would not have figured out this issue (index) on my own which is the beauty of having support groups such as coppermine.sourceforge.
