I used an underscore in a keyword and search wouldn't locate it. What rules govern keywords and search so that I don't add a bunch and then have to change them? Is it alpha only? case independent? etc.

Thanks.

ps. For my use, search would ideally identify an Album rather than (or in addition to) a File. My albums are houses, and files are construction photos. I want a search to find a particular house, and not just one of the pix. I can work around this, of course, by putting the keywords on just one photo and then the user can use the info to find the album it's associated with, but that's not as direct as it could be. I'll add this in wish list, but mention it here just be/c I'm here now. <G>

As long as your gallery omits the credits, no support for you.

I'll repeat my response from another thread.

Respectfully, I didn't remove it. My host is Globat. They sent a note to all users telling about this great Coppermine Photo Gallery. They had an "Install" button that I clicked. That's all. Didn't add or change anything on my own that wasn't controllable through Config, and that was just themes and such.

On my own I found this site and wrestled with what I could for 4 days and asked the first question today.

With that backstory, has Globat done something wrong? I'm personally happy to give credit where credit is due, and as a software developer (alas, pre-Internet) I'm familiar with copyrights and such. Is there a missing file I can add? Do I need a full reinstall to get back in your good graces?

Fully and properly credited. Question still applies. Just wondering about search characters. Reason is, we have some two-word buzzwords. Forcing them to be one word isn't technically correct, and believe it or not, even bumps into someone's copyright! Figured that an underscore would work, but I guess not. Alphanumeric only?

Now that the other stuff's out of the way, I've had a chance to dig further. In search.inc.php is the list of characters that are turned into spaces. There's also the list of fields searched. If I take the underscore out of the list, and also remove filename from "WHERE MATCH(filename, title, caption, keywords)" (be/c I don't wanna be searching on filename), then I should be able to get what I want, yes? Now in saying that, I don't wanna be doing something inappropriate. I come from the olden days of proprietary software, and am not sure of all that's kosher in the open source world.

You're free to make changes to the code. :) I think others can benefit from this mod too so if you can share the changes, that will be great.
