Just seeing if there's interest for this one.  This is a Photo Album interface that can be included in your CPG.  When you click the link, you'll be asked to download a Viewer (once only) - it's @2MB and it's totally free.  If you don't like the Viewer, simply uninstall it.  What you'll see here is a culmination of 3 php files that will take 10 random images from my gallery, build the necessary xml structure and display it in this Viewer (ie, each time you click the link, the images will change).  Just a nice optional effect is all.  And note: this only works with IE, sorry.  It can be CPG database driven or a specific folder. I've had this particular software for a couple of years now and have been a fan since day one.

The book covers can be anything you want.  And the internal page backgrounds can be ultimately customized as well.  If there's enuf interest, I'll throw a package together.  Any questions, fire away...More stuff to come....

OMG, that's awesome. I think that's a great idea. (https://coppermine-gallery.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ftu2.net%2Fforums%2Fimages%2Fsmiles%2Ficon_thumbs_up.gif&hash=c577483a9e561407c273604320459d4fbbe4c4da)

Too bad it's only good for IE, but thanks to the FF extension to open links in IE, it's not to difficult to access the album. Plus it's worth it. Do you think it's possible to include the image's caption on the album 'page'? You said that it was random images... could it be specific to albums?

Thanks guys (and gals).  I tried for a couple of hours today to include the descriptions.  I can get [a] description in the output tables, just have to figure out the array thing (matching the random pic).  I'm || this close, but if anyone would like to give me a hand.....to speed up the process, just yell  ;D

Just remember that all this has to be, is a mere link somewhere and the scripts do the rest.  From what I gather over the past few months here is some are afraid of php parsing xml.  It's really not that bad of a deal and don't be afraid.  In essense, it just builds an array of paths for other programs to look at and read.

It's a shame that my current employer does not allow xml viewing  :-\\ because this sounds like a real treat for visitors of a picture gallery.

What does that mean, Hein? Why can't you view xml with your employer?  Just curious.

Hein Traag

Means they filter incoming and outgoing internet traffic. And not allowing xml in their current state of mind.

Luckily changing job soon  ;D moving to Alcoa *spam*www.alcoa.com*/spam*.

Going to look at this when i'm home again.

awesome. (https://coppermine-gallery.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ftu2.net%2Fforums%2Fimages%2Fsmiles%2Ficon_clap.gif&hash=2e6a95ac0e148480fe34d75a12f7c409fba9c9e4)

Thing is... some pages I clicked, it would pop up a new window with the image by itself. There's no consistent cause... It happens when I click on an image or away from the image and in a seemingly random fashion. Using IE6 SP2.

rphMedia

Yeah, I noticed this anomaly too and I believe it's doing this while the other pages are loading.  If you let the pages load for a few seconds before turning, I think it solves that problem. Not sure though. I'll see if I can narrow it down.

Tranz

I don't think it happened the first time but maybe the pages were loaded.

Hein Traag

Looking good this does. Had to switch back to IE for it ;) pitty that it does not work under FF.

There are issues with the dynamic viewer (opens a new browser window randomly) and I have a support request in to the company.  As soon as that's worked out, I'll post the appropriate files.

Random popups solved. It was caused by the spaces in the description (should have know when TransDance responded in the very next thread after description was added).  Anyway, I just urlencode()'d the description pass and I haven't had a popup since.

OK, OK, sorry GauGau (marked this Invalid).  I'm in the process of restructuring my sites (the reason I removed the original link).  That link was to my personal family album site and I wanted to go back to private for that particular CPG.

Here's the new link to the script (below).  Once again, Internet Explorer only.  The only reason it's IE only is because of the ActiveX used in the Viewer.  You could easily download the viewer and put the link in its address bar and no matter what browser you use, as long as you have some form of IE ActiveX on your system, the Photo Album will work (I'll explain later in detail).

Let's try this.  I have the beta 1.4 version of CPG at this address.  I've allowed uploads to anonymous, but only with approval (I'm online in some form every day to approve/respond - got to prevent adult content, weirdos, etc...).  You may upload a few images and, once approved, you will see the images in this Photo Album.  Pretty neat.  No need to add a "description", but a title is OK.  Understand, if it gets too bulky, I will remove images at random.  Gonna just make this beta as well.

Here's the link to the actual script itself -

Here's the link to the test site -

New CPG

Or, go straight to uploading an image(s) (to view in the Photo Album later, once approved) -

Upload

The Album will automatically be selected either way ("Guest Album" --- 200K ea. limit for now).

Once approved, come back to this thread and hit the '3D Photo Album' link and your images will be in there.

Tell ya' what.  Put your user name (that you use here at the forum) in the description (not the title of the image) and I'll respond when approved.

Please let me know if you have any problems.
