mysql and php are 2 different things. Nibbler was asking about php. You can look up php info in Admin Tools in your gallery.

Answer Nibbler's question: what version of php are you using, and do you have the correct Zend optimizer?  If you don't know, ask your webhost.

I got a question do I need php so I can have coppermine? What I did was that I just download coppermine to my disk then I unzip the files and upload them to the server and they are the only thing that are in the server.... can it work like that?

I am trying to install it like this, but I get the same error....
mySQL Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Array' at line 1

So can you guys please tell me if I need to install php or if there is a way to only have the gallery like my page.

Thank you.

Sorry I dont understand too much about this...
Does the PHP comes whit the host? or do I have to install it? and if I have where can I download it from?
But am I ok by just uploading the coppermine folder to the server? or do I need something else?

Thank you

Read the FAQ. You can't install PHP yourself when webhosted, your webhost has to do this for you. You shouldn't self-host when totally clueless, so go for webhosting. You will find all necessary information on the contract you signed with your webhost, or on your webhost's homepage, or in the email they send you. We can not explain what PHP is and how you get it, as it's part of the minimum requirements - this means it's understood that you already have it before asking for support here. If you need answers on things not related to coppermine, you'd better google for it.

I have the same problem. I've being looking all the forum and i can't find the answer to my problem.

I have:
PHP Version 4.3.10
Zend Engine v1.3.0
Extension Manager v1.0.4
Zend Optimizer v2.5.5

register_local_arrays = on

I remove the @ in a file that i was told in one of the forum messages. I dont have the .lock file, because i haven't
pass throught the install.php page.

Please help me. I've being patience trying to solve this problem, but haven't found and answer.

PD. I have reinstalled in different directories, erasing mysql databases over 15 times.

Zend optimizer must be 2.5.7 if you are running 4.3.10.  You should upgrade your optimizer and also upgrade to at least 4.3.11.
