Hi, i would like to translate CPG to LITHUANIAN language. I doubt if you know where it is not looking to the map :-] but i found this program quite good and relyable. First of all, could the people who could help me, cotact me by e-mail.

Things are done : verry little is done yet trying to configure english-utf-8.php(UTF8 is not the most eficient here...windows-1257 is the best). Somehow php doesn't like all my translations, so maybe there are more ideas what i have to start with?

I also like to make some  thigs that it would be very nice to see in next version, but ofcourse, this is in next topic :-]

Waiting for an e-mail, becouse this forum works quite long(having a lot of people surfing? Congratulations..)

Lithuania, one of the Baltic states.

You should base your translation on the english.php, not the utf-8 version.  Please read the translation.htm in the docs folder of your downloaded copy.  You should get all the help there.

We do not contact by email, it is all done on the site, even though the site is having troubles at the moment, due to sourceforge servers, nothing we can do about that.  And even if we wanted to, we couldn't.  You have not told us your address.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

traditional chinese for utf-8 is broken, it doesn't show any chinese but weird characters. i thought it was suppose to looked like that when converted to utf-8, but when i choose that for my gallery, it just doesn't show up right. the one for simplified chinese is ok though. thanks

That's right, it is broken (as many other language files encoded in utf-8, unfortunately  :-[ )

Here comes the corrected version.

By the way, can anyone tell if the right name is really "Chinese Tranditional BIG5" and not simply "Chinese Tranditional"?

cheers,

== Olivier

PS. The other broken utf-8 language files (in the stable cvs directory):

  • brazilian-portuguese
  • croatian
  • dutch
  • greek
  • hungarian
  • italian 2 (what is that language ???)
  • japanese
  • norwegian
  • polish
  • slovenian
  • spanish

i don't think it makes any difference, Traditional Chinese, Chinese Traditional, doesn't matter as long as it's Traditional ;D
and big5 is just the charset for Traditional Chinese.

Olivier,

could you post a bug report on the broken utf-8 files on the bugs board and assign fixing the issues with those files to yourself? As soon as I get home I'll grant you cvs write access, so you can start modifying them. In fact I'd love to have a dev team member who's in charge of translation/language file issues (some sort of "head translator"), please give me your thoughts on this (you might want to volunteer for this *hint* *wink*). ;D

I'd be glad to do that! I like translations and localisations and encodings and all that kind of stuff. :)

Hi all ! Still searching for a pretty avatar, but meanwhile.....

Here I am ;o) (IT-Idiot, born in India, living in germany ((my whole live) - (6 month)), suzuki gsx1100g driver (even the last 8 winters), mad)

I would like to do the german ("du") translation again, incl. the german formal ("sie") translation as I did it last year for a friend of mine and I found several (SMALL) errors in translation.....I don't want to anger anyone, ' just want to help.

@gaugau (I live in Altrip and work in Weinheim....)

If this is interesting for you I would be pleased. I will also try to host all themes I can find on my own webspace to create a test-gallery where everybody can see what coppermine and the themes are like....

Greetings from...

Linus

You are most welcome. Download the last version of the german language file, update it, correct the mistakes, and post it right here on that thread, compressed in zip or gz.

Hi!.

First excuse my bad english ???

I have traslate CPG to Basque (Basque Country is a little country betwen Spain and France), here is the link to download.

And another question, how must i do to make the flag? and it can be see in the web?

Good, i hope you undderstand me :)

Bye

Joachim Müller

Thanks for your contribution - I created a flag for Basque (hope it's politically correct) and put the file both in the demo and download section (see first posting of this thread). To add it to the flag selector of your site, you need to edit include/functions.inc.php, find$lang_language_data['arabic'] = array('Arabic','العربية','sa');and add (in a new line) after it$lang_language_data['basque'] = array('Basque','Euskera','baq');

Hi!

The flag perfect  :) :) :)

Thanks for the information.

About the basque translation:
@Gaugau: there is a BOM in the utf-8... This is likely to pose many problems to the users. I'll fix this as soon as i can, but i suggest that you change your editor.
@kurtsik: the dates are not properly localised (the %p is used only in certain English speaking countries)

Apart from that, great to have one more language!

The right one

Bye

chtito

It's fixed in the devel branch. I also corrected the %I into %H. %I and %p are rarely used except in the US and a few other English speaking countries. That may be a good tip for the other translators as well.

@chtito: can you recommend a good leightweight editor that won't create the BOM (or is capable of removing it) on Windows machines? I'm reluctant to do the editing on my linux box, as I use it for testing server things locally only.

Joachim

I am working on a Welsh (Cymraeg) translation of CPG 1.3.2 and this should be ready early in 2005. Work in progress on  http://www.dyffrynaeron.com/llyfrlluniau . Diolch yn fawr.

chtito

@Gaugau: Unfortunately i can't recommend any editor on windows, nor linux, but there must exist some. However if you just want to remove the BOM, you can open the file in latin1, remove the first three characters, and save in latin1. Otherwise i can take care of the language files, even though it entails some delay since i don't check this thread every day ;).
