Hi, I found out about the photo system from Coppermine/SourceForge through a website I visited today, and it seems like an EXCELLENT way to handle the photos on a site!

I'm part of an admin team, and this seems like something great that we could use for our site.. I just have a few questions, hope maybe someone can help me with them? I read through the FAQ and all, but Im not sure that I all digg it yet.

- As an admin, you can assign other admins/mods to the system, so they can also set up new categories, and post pictures? Is it easy for people, who are not too comp illiterate, to work with?

- Can you check IP addresses or other info from visitors?

- Is it difficult to install the whole thing on your server? Im a multimedia student, and can handle comp programs well, only PHP isn't one of my strongest features. What do you think.. should it be do-able?

Thank you for taking the time to read and reply to this!

Yes you can have other admins. Just make sure that those users are members of the admin group.

CPG does not offer an internal logging feature. There may be a HACK/MOD that accomplishes this. Try searching our MODS/HACK boards.

Nope, not at all. Simply download the ZIP file, extract it, and upload it to your webserver. You will then need to create a mySQL database. The point your web-brower to the ./install.php file and fill in the fields requested. DONE.
Please do not PM me with support questions. Please read the manual and then if posting questions please place them in the proper sub-boards.

some additional comments on what has already been said:
1) we have a "one question per thread" policy on this forum. You agreed to respect it when you signed up here. It makes tracking issues easier both for supporters and users. Please respect it in the future.
2) Coppermine doesn't have moderators, so your co-admins will have full powers (that will enable them to break your site as well if they do not understand what they're doing)
3) Coppermine does store IP addresses for some user actions, so you have limited IP address tracking ability. However, with IP addresses assigned dynamically to most surfers, it won't help you very much.
