I installed coppermine 1.3.3 a few days ago. I am still trying it out. I uploaded some pics, they were fine. However,  some pics (about 100 to 200 kb size), the return screen told me my files were upload sucessfully. I then clicked the "continue" button, it returned with a blank screen. It did not return with the thumbnail that let me put the pics in the album. I looked at the /edit folder. There were some tmp files which indicates the files were uploaded. all my folders have permission 777.

I forgot to mention. I set up the quota as 20480 kb. I have used only 1431 kb. I should have lots of disk space left.

I also tried batch upload. I made a directory called /upload under /album. I upload the image files into that directory. The page "Adding now files to gallery" came up. The result was showed as broken links. When I clicked on those broken links, the uploaded pictures shown up. It seemed that the picture files were uploaded successfully. However, no error message, nor ok, dp, pb, na shoed up. I cannot add those files (which I know they are in the upload floder) to the album.

Are you using ImageMagick?  If so, switch to GD2 and try again.  Improperly configured ImageMagick installations frequently cause this type of problem.

I am using GD2. I also discovered, if I opened the jpg files I wanted to upload, saved it to to a different size, then it would upload.  However, the color balance will shift to a dull, dark color. Some files have no problem in the uploading process, but some just would not work. The overall file size has nothing to do with the success of he upload. Some files of 200 kb would show but some 50 kb would not.

sounds like you set "method for resizing pics" to GD1 in coppermine config although you claim to have GD2. Please check your coppermine config settings.

dragonfinger

I double checked, it was set at GD2.

How about a link to your site?  Also, can you post the troublesome images to your website and post the links so we can look at them?

I have no problem posting the pictures also in my site. Actually, coppermine told me the uploads were successful. After I clicked "continue", it returned a blank page. It does not happen with all the picture uploads. It happened to some. I uploaded a batch this evening with no problem. You can see my successful ones at http://dragonfinger.com/photo. All the pics have the file size from 40 kb to 200 kb. The proble uploads were about 120 kb in size.
