A part time photographer and author running a one man company. I am in the process of setting up a online StockPhoto solution. I need a work flow that is as automatic as possible and can be driven with a minimum of effort and time.  I am thrilled to se that CPC extracts EXIF and IPTC from JPG's. I my opinion Adobe DNG - digital negative - format is better than JPG for commercial use. If I could upload DNG files to CPG it would also save some time in the workflow. The StockPhoto company that currently sells my photos is available at:
http://natur.bildene.no/search_results.asp?txtsearchParamTxt=Per%20Ulrich%20Kristiansen&txtsearchParamCat=ALL&ssSearch=ALL.ALL.ALL&txtsearchParamType=ALL&txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&txtFromSearch=fromSearch&btnSearch.x=31&btnSearch.y=5

*** FEATURE REQUESTS  ***
-----------------------------------------
a.
A feature that allow files in Adobe DNG format to be uploaded to the server. Then CPG automatically extracts the JPG from the DNG file and displays it in the CPG gallery.

b.
The EXIF, IPTC and XPM information is extracted and presented together with the JPG photo in a way that makes the photo optimal for spidering and indexing by http://www.Google.com and other search engines that indexes photo.

c.
When the customers pays for an image with a CPG eCommerce module, then the customer downloads the Adobe DNG format image.

*** BUDGET ***

I have a budget on approximately US$ 500,- for the Adobe DNG feature. I guess there might be other commercial photographers being interested as well. Please contact me if you are a CPG developer or commercial photographer interested in using GPC for StockPhoto based on Adobe DNG format.

I find your request interessting, and your pricing appears fair as well. Please note that I'm not going to take the job though. I just wanted to add some notes: coppermine can currently use one of two image libraries that actually handle the conversion of images: GD or ImageMagick. I'm pretty sure that GD is not capable of converting DNG to JPEG, and I haven't heard of DNG support for ImageMagick, so I guess that is currently isn't possible to accomplish what you're up to. The best bet would be to have some ImageMagick guru look into DNG support for ImageMagick, so you might want to post your request on a page where the ImageMagick people are (please note that I'm not trying to send you away, I'm just not sure that the people who frequent this board are capable to do what you request).

To continue what Gaugau has said - there are no known Open Source program (known to me) which handle DNG format. However what you are asking can be done with NEF (the RAW Nikon Electronic Format)

Thank you for the fast response  :) . Hopefully such a feature will be available in future releases of ImageMagick.
