In the past days, the coppermine forum on sourceforge.net has been painfully slow. We have moved the forum to a new, powerful server - the migration finally was successful (at least that's the impression I have ;)).
Some other content from sf.net will be moved soon as well.
Please report bugs (related to the forum itself) here. Thanks.

Kudos!  And many many many thanks for the move!

As someone who spends a lot of time in the forums here for cpmfetch, I deeply appreciate the more responsive server!

EDIT:  Well bless my soul, e-mail topic notifcations are working again too!  Its a good day for CPG users everywhere!
Please post for help to the forum... PM me only if you are sending security related items (passwords, security problems, etc).

done  ;)

I had a hard time creating the dump of the old board, but finally I managed to do so using shell access. Restoring the dump here went flawlessly, using the restore script you provided. Thanks a lot ;D. We all owe the smf team and especially you very much! All hail [Unknown].

Glad I could be of help; I'm sorry it was so much trouble to create the backup.

By the way, if I may ask, what's up with the number of queries per page?  Is it doing an extra query per poster, or something...?

Do you have shell access?  Since this server is running CGI, it may be possible to add the spell checker without bothering your host.

We're using a mod based on http://unknown.network32.net/tutorial.smf_custom-profile to show additional information per user, maybe that's the cause. Should we skip this for performance reasons?

I don't think so. I'll have to re-check.

Thank you for your time and effort on pulling this off, GauGau.  :-* :D

Thank you to the SMF team for helping GauGau complete the restoration. :)

I enjoy 18 meg broadband and dont usually notice slow sites, but this was sloooooooooooow! Fantastic now. Thanks everyone.
Does the system allow you to e-mail all members? Might be worth doing, if you can, as I guess some dial-up people might have given up even trying to look in.

Joachim Müller

thanks, but no: we won't send unrequested emails unless there's a security flaw discovered. Spam is a bad thing imo.

canelli

the previous version of forum was very very slow.

Now we can surf the forum with a veryyyyyyyyy goooooooood response.

Many thanks GauGau  and the SMF team for the help made you
::) ::)

;D Usually I click the support button and nothing happens for a minute or two then I get the busy server notice on IE.  So I click again and again and again and make some coffee and click some more.

But this... This... THis.... THIs... THIS! Is fantastic!

With this speed, I'm sure Coppermine will accelerate in popularity beyond its rivals.  Great Job!

Learn and live ... In January of 2011, after a botched stent attempt, the doctors told me I needed a multiple bypass surgery or I could die.  I told them I needed new doctors.
